"I thought the property was very nice inside with the use of traditional Japanese styles of the tatami rooms and comfortable beds as well as the sliding rice paper doors. It had a great shower room, which could be used like a Onsen with a deep soaking tub and short stool with bucket. But even with these traditional styles, you could’ve easily taken a standup shower. "I spent 10 days in Tokyo with a friend at Hotel Niwa in one of their tatami rooms with two twin beds. This room was perfect and gave us the space to lay out all our luggage. For a hotel extremely close to a train line, it was surprisingly quiet as well! "This is my second time staying because it is such a wonderful hotel. The garden alone is worth the extra cost. The rooms are very good size and the staff is well trained. It gives you a feel of good old-time charm plus model conveniences. It is not in the middle of "everything" but the train station is only 5 minute walk away, so it was not too bad at all. Ginza and Shibuya are only a few stations out, so you can get to everywhere just fine. Also, the airport bus from Narita (not Haneda)...
