"Stayed at Riu Vallarta for 4 days as part of a 12 day trip in Puerto Vallarta (stayed at the Riu Jalisco for the other 8 days). Vallarta is a step up from the Jalisco in almost every way. Property is closer to the beach so it is not a long walk from your room to the beach. Crowds weren't too bad but you did have to get up early to claim a chair near the pools. "We originally booked a family room. All the family rooms face a junky looking alley. They were very accommodating and moved us to a standard room with an ocean and pool view the next day. I would definitely book there again, but just would advise everyone to book a standard room instead of one of the cool family rooms (unless the view doesn't matter to you)"

"The room was very comfortable, clean, upgraded and well lit. The location was not too far from the airport or zona romantica. There is also a vegan cafe - viva la vegan within 10 min walking distance for any vegans out there. The pool on the roof top is beautiful. Live music/DJ was ok and a bit loud. View is great and you can also walk down to the beach of the neighboring resorts. Our room faced the ocean and the road and was noisy at times due to the traffic. "
