"As always, our stay was amazing! Attentive staff, great service, very clean and stunning room. Covid guidelines all followed here and so felt at ease. Will definitely return. Thank you for a lovely stay Barnsley House.xx"
"Beautiful Historical Location with lovely private garden, convenient walking distance into town for shopping. Staff was very pleasant and helpful, helping me make the most of my trip. "
"Very unique property and lovely setting ... as a historical property, they have done a nice job of combining the comforts of modern amenities while keeping within their historical requirements. Service was slightly below average, with some well-trained staff and others going through the motions. We stayed in the Lodge and we experienced a few issues."
"Brilliant stay, check in was quick and smooth. Show to our rooms which were clean and spacious with large king bed. Staff were excellent during the stay and even did us a meal which wasn't on the recently updated menu. Breakfast freshly cooked and again adapted the choice for my colleague. "

"Lovely hotel and we have a wonderful time on our 55the wedding anniversary. The food in the restaurant was fabulous. My only gripe was the only place you could watch tv was on the bed. Would have preferred watching it from the chairs. Loved the stairs - so beautiful. "

"Room large and well appointed, including a fridge. Comfortable King-size bed. Bathroom was a little small but clean We were staying for two nights and opted for drink vouchers in lieu of having room serviced. Didn't try the restaurant because we dined at a friends' place one night and our daughter had recommended some of the nearby restaurants which were very good. The staff at reception were very friendly, helpful and courteous."

" Enjoyed the stay and was impressed that the property was over 700 years old. The ancient graveyard next store at the church backyard was very unique. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was great,"

"It is a lovely hotel, very peaceful and quiet area. It could use a bit of redecoration in certain sites but it is clean enough and still very comfortable with all the amenities. Breakfast is superb (I would say above average for the chain hotels) and this is one of the very few hotels where you can actually open the windows! (and there is a garden outside so it is actually pleasant to do). Swimming pool is again maybe a bit old but perfectly good and comfortable to use. It is a great place for a relaxing stay to detach from the daily stress; not so much if you really need a good wifi as this can be really sluggish, although maybe there is a way around it (I think they have some premium wifi service there but there will be likely an extra fee).
