"Stayed here overnight after visiting family in Derby , check in and out easy, friendly reception staff. Very clean accomodation , tea, coffee etc, bath with overhead shower, good thick towels the room was quiet cheap overnight at £43 pub/restaurant on site for breakfast and meals, mcdonalds 2 mins walk away. Good very clean comfortable good stay. "

"Check in was easy, the staff member on the desk was courteous and professional. Our family room was generous in size, clean and functional. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. We were in the area to visit friends. Not sure we would come to the area otherwise as its probably a bit far from the city centre to be used as a base for going in. But, for us, we will definitely book to stay again for our future visits."

"My husband and I and another couple spent two nights at Penny Hedge. Check in at reception by Scott was friendly and quick. The rooms clean and tidy and nice fluffy towels in the bathroom. We ate there one night and the food was excellent. All the staff were very efficient, friend,y and most helpful. We had a lovely stay."

"Lovely hôtel - perfect for Lake Windermere. Facilities in the hotel are great: there are even wellingtons you can borrow to do a woodland walk. The restaurant is fantastic with high quality food. The lounge and reception area have wonderful open fires which make it feel really cosy. Our feature room was fantastic and roomy."

"Can we have exactly the same as the smugglers cove here in Banbury please, the carvery would be a sell out! Beautifully clean and fresh rooms, and well decorated. The pub rooms and food especially the carvery are to be recommended. "

"We arrived a bit late but the chap who checked us in was lovely. He greeted our dog before us, which I think is a good sign. Very friendly with good humour. Room was massive. The double bed was huge!!!!. Slept like a baby. I will stay here again. "

"The room was both comfortable and clean, however I did request a ground floor room (which was given) but I did request to be away from the door entrance to the rooms and found that a lot of guests DO NOT care about letting the entrance door bang (constantly) our room was right next to this door, so my first night was disturbed. I then invested in some ear plugs (that did help)"
