The property itself is dated. I really wasn’t ready to see the bathtub in the bedroom and no real bathroom. Everything is wide open so if you’re not alone, whoever you’re with will see you do everything. This really didn’t work for us but the staff worked it out and was able to get us a room with an enclosed bathroom. Food wasn’t anything to write home about. The staff was really nice and friendly.

For me, going to an all-inclusive resort the food quality is extremely important. I've stayed at other Rui in the past and it has been a "hit or miss" experience. This Rui Palace Peninsula was a HIT! All the food was great, was very pleased with the food selections and quality. The coffee shop doesn't open until 10 am which a lot of people complained about. I think, coffee shops should be open 7am-noon, at least. Afternoon coffee is less important. Halfway through the trip, I heard through the grapevine the "Sports Bar" made coffee in the morning. They did make a fantastic iced coffee. And my maid she was fantastic - I don't know her name and she didn't speak any English. The best maid ever!

The hotel has an area in the back where the beach is calm and we were able to get in the beach. Stayed at other hotels where we haven’t been able to enjoy the beach because it is too deep or waves are too strong. This is the first time we lasted out in the beach almost every day of how nice it was!!
