"It was a pleasant experience. I happened to be staying there when hurricane Sally hit. My room stayed fine. However, the lobby was damaged by the winds and rain, lost power and water. The staff and manager on hand were excellent. They didn’t act frazzled or anxious. They took care of matters and us guests. I really enjoyed the history of the hotel, too. "

"The view of the lake was outstanding! Entertainment in the bar was a talented pianist and drinks were great. The porch rockers and tables were really nice. It had old world charm. Don’t expect a modern hotel room here. Creaky steps and comfortable beds welcome guests. "

"Overall,it's a nice place to stay. We were quite satisfied with the included breakfast. The only less-than-excellent item: despite a feather bed style mattress topper, the bed itself felt as solid as a slab of granite."

"This hotel is one my family and I would usually book, however it has absolutely gone down hill fast. There is absolutely NO dining area on premises, zero ice machines, rust and mold in the rooms, and no coffee makers in any rooms. We had to go off property just to even get a meal or snack. Oh and housekeeping is done ONLY after you check out. So needless to say, we WON'T be staying here again."

"The staff is great. We had a small hiccup the first night with our air conditioner. They jumped right in to make sure it was working and that we were happy."

"It was very Quaint. The service was wonderful I enjoy their free bottle of wine We could walk to everything. Close to the shops. Live entertainment. The breakfast was OK I would definitely go back "
