"Amazing stay for my partners birthday. Room was very well presented and hotel offered to provide flowers to celebrate and even a happy birthday message written in chocolate! "We’ve stayed at the Old Ship several times, as it tends to be the best value for money. We love the central sea front location (and are prepared to put up with a bit of city noise… the complimentary ear plugs are a nice touch), sea views are well worth paying a bit extra for, and we even enjoy the 100 year old lift …. on the occasional time it arrives before we opt for the stairs instead (it is described optimistically as ‘a bit slow’).
