We were fortunate to be there to celebrate the Greek Orthodox Easter. Our super host, Lia helped us with dinner suggestions, sight seeing, and just general knowledge of the area. I will return and stay here again!”

“I can't say enough about how wonderful my experience was in Crete, particularly because of the lovely hospitality of Panayiotis and Apollonia. By the end of the stay, I felt like a member of the family. The space was perfect for me (and a friend who joined me halfway through the trip). “Our trip to Crete Retreat was fantastic! Beautiful grounds, quiet and very enjoyable sitting in the sun near the pool having a glass of incredible Greek wine. Rob and Rachel were outstanding hosts. “We cannot say enough positive things about the gardenia garden house. It was a wonderful location to explore the beaches and hiking spots around Chania, and experience the lovely culture of the people of Sternes. It is within 10 minutes of the airport but feels a world away. Comfortable furnishings surrounded by lemon and olive trees,herbs to cook with in its well equipped kitchen all made it a comfortable home for us. Hoping to return to this lovely spot!”

“Our place was very spacious for 4 people ( 2 couples), kitchen well equipped, lots of towels provided, great space for sleeping however beds were uncomfortable. Location was very good once we figured out where we were and where the main road was ( restaurants, groceries and bus to harbour). All in all, a very stood stay.”

“It really was like being in a Greek home. The few things we needed were attended to quickly. We ran out of coffee which is graciously provided, and voila they went and got us more! They provided needed extras like olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper and sugar making cooking easy. It is a perfect neighborhood for exploring Chania and the rest of Crete as well. There is so much to do from swimming nearby to exploring the city walls and lighthouse, and museums, all easy walking distance! We also……

“The location was fantastic. It was very close to restaurants and supermarkets. It was also an easy walk to the old port and all the sea sites. There were 4 weekly food markets that could also be reached walking. The only issues we had were a language barrier for operation of the stove/range and the washing machine /dryer. It was a bit frustrating but we muddled through. We would suggest a simple fix would be a booklet with multiple language translations. Also, the shower in the onsuite has a……

“The communication with Eleanna was great and she met us soon after our drive from the airport in Heraklion. The apartment was beautifully decorated and kept, as the photos indicated. Everything worked well. When the town water was cutoff we were kept informed. Having a dedicated parking space so close to the harbor was a blessing but be prepared to learn how to get in and out of Lithinon. It is one way up and down. You must back down the street at least halfway in order to turn around, so……
