"Beautiful hotel"

"At check-in we asked about the beach and pool. They said since we booked through Hotels.com (Expedia), both had daily surcharges. I showed them the listing on Hotels.com, which had no surcharges listed, except for dinner. They insisted that beach and pool cost extra. I contacted Hotels.com customer service who inspected the policy they have on file for this hotel. Nowhere in the policy does it say that the beach and pool are a surcharge cost! "I will start with the cons before I get into what we enjoyed. First off we didn't get the room we booked. I booked a pool side room but was given sea view room. When I went to ask about it the blonde lady (I will not mention her name) tried to cover it up after I showed her my itinerary. She was fairly rude about it and just kept saying we upgraded you to sea view room. But I kept telling her I booked pool side and if I wanted sea view I would have booked sea view. "A mixed bag really- On the Plus side were polite and courteous staff,Comfortable and clean room, and lovely pool and location. On the down side was restricted use of pool on first day due to it being cleaned in the middle of afternoon by an electric device, Mediocre food and a balcony that had not been cleaned prior to arrival or during our stay. Has the potential to be terrific but attention to detail needs to be improved to get it to an outstanding level."
