My Japanese is limited so we really appreciated the staff doing their best to explain policies in English. "Great place for families visiting Shimoda and Izu Peninsula. Definitely a hotel catering to Japanese tourists, but with a little Japanese and respect the staff is very friendly and works with you. Some of the staff spoke some English. Bathhouse, arcade, and hotel amenities were great. Walking distance to everything downtown and easy spot to drive to other locations. Would definitely stay here again with family on vacation. "

"Amazing ryokan experience. Staff went over and above to cater to every need. The accommodation was comfortable sleeping on futons on tatami mats. The beautiful robes they provided made us feel at home. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. They even provided us bento boxes for lunch.
