"This was my first ryokan visit so take what I say with a grain of salt. First, the staff was very accommodating and nice. Their English was limited but they went out of their way to make sure we were welcome including coming to our room to show us how to set up our futon. Dinner was amazing with so many items. Here again, the staff took their time to show us the items. The room was also very nice and authentic - the floor was covered by tatami mats and we slept on futons which were very comfortable. "

"This accommodation is mixed good and bad. There are a few things that I was very happy with! It is only about a 5 minute walk from Yugawara JR station, the room itself was very nice (we booked a traditional Japanese style room) and in it there were hot water facilities for tea, private bathroom, AC and TV. The onsen is obviously brand new and is a very high standard. There is the option for private onsen which costs about 2800 yen for a 45 minute session and I would recommend it! There are a few things that were poor however. There was construction work ongoing during out stay which we were not told about either when we booked or at check-in. It seemed to only happen between 9am and 12 noon however it was very noisy and it did certainly make the stay less enjoyable (we had to leave during these times as it was so noisy). The hotel is very hard to get in contact with. They do not respond to Expedia messages and do not have an email.
