Idyllic Getaway Spot
My wife and I hosted something of a family retreat, complete with adult children, grandchildren, siblings and nephews. We had a great time. Here’s the best summary of our experience: our grandson said that he had an even better time than when he went to DisneyWorld.

Plantation style home and grounds
The grounds were beautiful, and the home was nice especially for how old it is. All of the amenities you need were there and provided for you. The owner was easy to get in touch with. The beds were a little uncomfortable and the rugs were a little dirty from so many visitors. I would definitely get rid of the rugs and show the beautiful floors. We had a restful stay and would give the house an overall 4.7 because of the beds and rugs.

Worth the visit
Beautiful property and house. Fishing pond was great. Wish the weather was nicer to use the pool. House very well stocked with supplies. Hosts are very responsive. Only complaint of the stay was the driveway was hard to find at first. GPS doesn't have it pinned correctly. Hope to return in the furture!

Very beautiful accommodations. The mattresses and pillows could have been better quality in the guest house but other than that our stay was perfect. There is plenty of room to relax as a group or spend time alone in many of the spaces in the garden. This is the perfect New Orleans home!

Wonderful friends getaway
Beautiful property, spacious with plenty of room for our friend group of seven. There are three rooms in main house and two rooms in second house across a small courtyard. Very easy to come and go to both houses. Main house has a very nice sun room which was great and spacious for all of us. Pool was well maintained with numerous lounge chairs. AC went out during our second day and despite being a Friday evening, the owner was quick to respond and had service provider on site within 30 minutes. We fully enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future.

This property was perfect for our family of 9 - 6 adults and 3 children. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the fishing pond. With the weather being a very hot July, the guest house and main house were cool and very comfortable. Cooking and serving meals in the kitchen worked very well with enough room for all. We also used the outside grill. The grounds were very spacious and accommodated various activities.

The Secret Garden
Had a great stay at the Secret Garden. Fulfilled all of our needs for 6 seniors. Covington is a very nice town. Felt quite safe shopping there and staying at the Secret Garden. We attended Jazzfest in NOLA. It is a fair distance to drive, but for us it was well worth it to come back to some tranquility at the Secret Garden. Highly recommended accomodation!

Christmas stay
We stayed over Christmas and overall things were okay. Unfortunately the hot water faucet in the sink in the bathroom loft didn’t work. The hosts said they’d call a plumber to get it fixed but no plumber showed up. And the washer wasn’t working which caused a problem because some of us were on a three week trip and needed to do laundry. So we ended up going to a laundry mat on Christmas Eve. We also had the misfortune of having freezing temps while we were there so the pipes started freezing which left us without water for awhile one morning (NOT the hosts fault). We had to leave the water trickling most of the time. The grounds were nice and had the weather been warmer we could have really enjoyed that. The grounds are definitely the attraction for this property.

Thanksgiving family retreat
Property was beautiful and spacious. Only wish we could see it in the spring and/or summer. Children enjoyed the play area as with as the fishing. The house was clean and adequate for our crew. Would love to stay again some day. I only wish that we had known that it was not handicap accessible. Stairs to climb from the garden room to the kitchen.

Family in town to celebrate 80th bday!
We had a fabulous stay at The Secret Garden VRBO. Our family traveled from Florida to stay near our mother who was turning 80 this week. We planned a full weekend of surprises for her as she did not realize any of us were coming to town. An additional group stayed local at our brother’s home. While the surprise party was held at a different location, this wonderful home was the setting for many fabulous visits with each other. On Sunday, we enjoyed every part of the grounds with our children and grandchildren and relatives who had traveled in as well. It was very relaxing and felt like we owned a little piece of private joy for four days. This is a trip that we will all treasure forever and are so thankful to have shared this time at this property. The hosts were quick to respond to questions and all our needs were met. Strongly recommend this property if you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful opportunity with great amenities.

Short Trip to New Orleans
We chose to stay here as it was close enough to New Orleans but wanted something that was quieter. This house fit the bill. The house was clean and well maintained. The property was vast and could use some landscaping and love to return it to the luster it clearly once had. The houses (there are 2) had plenty of room for our family of 6. The kids enjoyed exploring the yard with the playground, pool, and pond. The mosquitoes were vicious, bring bug spray. In late September the pool was quite chilly (not heated), but the kids still enjoyed it. The entrance to the property is a bit hard to find especially at night but also very private. We enjoyed our visit!
