Ireland 1 Week Itinerary Guide

Days 1–2: Dublin
Land at Dublin’s international airport and head to the city center to start your Ireland vacation in the country’s capital. If you’re searching for what to see in Ireland, look no further than Dublin:
- Go on a guided walking tour and see sights like Trinity College and Dublin Castle
- Guinness Storehouse
- Tour Kilmainham Gaol (book ahead)
- Enjoy the pubs and live music in Temple Bar
Where to stay: Choose a luxury hotel such as The Westin Dublin, or a more budget-friendly hotel such as The Clarence located in Temple Bar, on the River Liffey.
Transportation: For Days 1-2 it’s easy to get around Dublin without driving, but you will need a car for Days 3-7,so we recommend booking a car for hire at the airport. You can combine car rental, flights and hotels with our Ireland package deals.

Day 3: Drive to Killarney
Set off on the 4-hour drive cross Ireland’s beautiful countryside, stopping at sights along the way before reaching your final destination for a stay in Killarney.

- The city of Cork to kiss the Blarney Stone
- Dinner in Kinsale
Where to stay: The Lake Killarney Hotel is on the shores of the lake just outside town, or, consider Ardree House Bed and Breakfast, a 10-minute walk from town.

Day 4: Daytrip to Ring of Kerry and Skellig Michael
- Travel around the Ring of Kerry, a 111-mile loop that goes from the mountains to the sea
- Stop in the villages of Kenmare and Sneem
- Join a boat tour to the island of Skellig Michael, departing from the Portmagee marina
Transportation: Several tour companies offer trips to Skellig Michael between May and October.

Day 5: Dingle Peninsula Day Trip
Just a 1-hour drive from Killarney is the Dingle Peninsula, one of Ireland’s most astounding landscapes.
- Inch Beach
- Drive up Dunmore Head to see views across to the Blasket Islands
- Have dinner in the coastal town of Dingle

Day 6: Drive from Killarney to Doolin via Limerick
- Explore Limerick’s Old Town to see John’s Square and King John’s Castle
- Listen to some live music in a pub—Doolin is regarded as the home of traditional Irish music
Where to stay: For a stay in Doolin, try the Doolin Inn, with its hearty breakfasts, or enjoy the sea views from Cahermaclanchy House, a B&B located a few minutes’ drive outside the village.

Day 7: The Cliffs of Moher and Galway
The famous Cliffs of Moher, a 10-minute drive from Doolin, is one attraction that must be included on any first trip to Ireland itinerary.
- Walk the hiking trail along the coastline of the Cliffs of Moher
- Visit the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Center if only for the highest viewpoint of the cliffs
- Get a different view of the cliffs on a boat tour
- Return to Dublin (about 3 hours) via Galway, known for its arts scene
