Cool little hotel with retro vibe. Hotel has built in parking deck for easy parking and check in. The hotel could not be any more convenient to downtown Durham (restaurants, bars, DPAC, Bulls, etc). Staff is extremely helpful and friendly.

Location to downtown was nice. Parking was terrible. I paid $50 to park in parking garage and was charged an additional $80 plus dollars to get out of the garage. This was after I had already paid for parking. Was told I would receive a QR code to use to get out of the garage and I never received it. The Unscripted-Durham is a cute/retro boutique hotel smack dab in middle of hopping downtown. Check-in wasn’t ideal but every single employee I interacted with was extremely nice/helpful. Parking was *not* included in my Expedia package, which came as an unpleasant surprise since it was conveyed to be included. The small pool and very large pool-lounge area are clearly the “stars of the show.” Food was decent, but would recommend checking out nearby eateries/bars over convenience of staying in.

Property was clean and unique. I wasn't happy with the hotel parking. We had to pay 25.00 extra for parking in the deck. This wasn't disclosed in the initial reservation. Also the code to leave the parking deck didn't work, either. Thanks to a nice lady, we were able to get out of the deck. Other than this, the stay was fine.

The location was really great. The room was nice. These were the things that weren't the greatest for me. My room was right by where the housekeeping staff keeps their supplies, so I heard all movement back and forth whenever they were in and out. I was right by the pool also and music played very loudly until at least 9:30. I'm almost positive it was later, but it was also a Sunday. Apparently the hotel is near a train station or train tracks, so that was also really loud. So, nice enough place but those things were just kind of a lot.

Showers are configured strangely so you can’t avoid completely flooding the bathroom floor… and lighting in the room was also sparse. Good location though and the staff was attentive.
