A wonderful home in Cape Town

Ellerman house is a very special place. The location is spectacular, their art collection the clear result of a lifelong passion, the food is excellent, and the service impeccable without being overbearing or pretentious. I suspect there are few if any better places for sundowners than their terrace.

What a wonderful place. Could not have been better. Everything about Ellerman House is just top notch with all the beautiful, cool art as a bonus. The staff eill help you regardless of you request . Nothing is impossible. Thank you so much to all of you in the staff.

A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE DUE TO STAFF who go out of their way to try to get into power-struggles with the guests who pay their salaries ! An overrated, expensive hotel that in all areas fails to live up to it's much-hyped status. You can get far nicer hotels with far nicer staff at less than half of the price. A bitter disappointment from what we expected. The charming Andros (at like a 5th of this price) gives you the 5 star home away from home experience that this hotels promises to deliver. So do most of the other Historic 5 star Cape Dutch hotels in the Constantia + Newlands areas. So you don't have the seaview but that won't matter anymore once your stay has been spoiled like ours was at Ellerman House. On the Atlantic side you have superb accommodation that does give the seaview without the problems we encountered at Ellerman House. 1000's of Private Villa's & Guest Houses with stellar views. For real 5 star Service Stay in the same price class go to The Silo in V & Waterfront. Flawless & Superb in every way !!! For Cape Dutch Try the CHARMING little Andros & their wonderful staff. In HoutBay = The wonderful quirky Hout Bay Manor. In Winelands (Franschhoek) = The sister Hotel of THE SILO = La Residence also Superb & Flawless service & wonderful staff. I cannot think of 1 reason to stay at Ellerman House after our horrible stay there.
