We did arrive before check in time and the guys there kindly took our bags to hold so we could wander around Key West without dragging them around. I asked if I could do the check in process then and they could just let us know when the room was ready. They declined but did say they would let us know as soon as the room was ready. They have a fridge stocked with things you can buy, including beer (bottled) which my friend asked if she could take with her on our walk.. within one block we were stopped by police threatening arrest bc you can NOT have an open bottle as we were recklessly told by staff, you can have a drink ONLY if it is in a plastic cup! She she had to dump it a few sips in. We were never told our room was ready as promised and upon return/ check in got stuck with the rudest, unwelcoming girl I’ve ever come across! The room was small but cute however the blinds didn’t close and there was possibly mold but at the very least moisture with bubbled up paint throughout the room (we were sneezing & stuffy the entire time.) The pool/ bar was nice and peaceful, bartender was chill and made good drinks- that is also where they serve the included breakfast which was a light fare of muffins, fruit, yogurt, & cofee. It was in a relatively convenient location and we were able to walk everywhere we went without being in the heart of it all.

Overall, we had a great time at The Palms. We stayed for seven nights for a wedding. Definitely not the swankiest of places to stay but the pool and bar were nice and the room was comfortable, though not super updated. It’s a little more central but it we never waited more than 2 minutes for a $10 Uber ride to the busier areas. The staff was nice especially the bartender. My only warning is don’t expect an early check in. If you arrive before 3pm they’ll make you wait.

We had a great stay at the palms! The hotel was clean and the location was wonderful! The woman who ran the breakfast In the morning was very hardworking and on top of everything. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!
