Bear Necessities Cottages

Bear Necessities Cottages

8/10 Good
"The location of the Bear Necessities cottages is rural and quiet, yet close to town. Our cottage, though small, was clean and comfortable with a good shower. There is no air-conditioning, which is typical in Alaska. Heat was provided by a diesel heater. This was a little unusual, but we got used to it and it worked fine. No complaints. Would easily stay here again."

"A wonderful facility everything was top notch, There was great attention to detail, nothing else I could have needed. Very clean and you feel as if you are in a remote setting although Seward is just a few minutes away. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone. Be assured if I ever return to Alaska I would plan to stay there. A satisfied Nebraskan."

Howling Wolf Resort!

Howling Wolf Resort!

8/10 Good
"This is an interesting property. It could have been excellent if the property was improved a bit with trees, shrubs, and landscaping for privacy and visual interest. It is a great concept that was not quite executed. The tent cabins are a great idea but build poorly. They are very clean and we did sleep great! The showers and toilets are wonderful, but both are on one side of the property, so quite a hike in the night. The hot tubs and saunas are wonderful but can get overcrowded. Unfortunately, this area is right next to a rock quarry, so lots of noise of machinery breaking the peaceful nature of the “resort.” The facility does shut down at night. The staff are wonderful and helpful. So close to a perfect stay!!! I would recommend so long as you know this is not really a resort, camping, or peaceful park."
