We stayed in the historic section of the hotel and it was great. Lovely Victorian architecture but updated with modern plumbing, HVAC, electrical etc. The room was large enough, comfortable and the bed was very nice. All the staff we interacted with were very helpful and went out of their way to give us suggestions of what to see and do in downtown Austin. Especially helpful was Emily at the front desk and Timothy the valet manager. The location is perfect for walking to most of Austin’s downtown sights, bars, and restaurants. A very nice stay and would definitely use the Driscoll again as our headquarters in a visit to Austin.
