Great location in the hub of the city, a short walk to the main square & cathedral. The hotel is in a historic building, which has a lively vibe with 2 restaurants in its coutyard. For more of a relaxing atmosphere, head to the rooftop bar & pool, which have great views of the rooftops. Staff were extremely friendly & helpful, with the hotel in great condition, clean, given the age of the historic building. You appreciate interior design and architecture. You would like to be in the Centro historico district. Azul historico restaurant is downstairs. You would like a romantic stay. You like a perfect Mexican breakfast on a beautiful terrace. You like a property where the staff treat you well. You need a chance to relax at a rooftop pool with bar service. Why you shouldn’t stay here . You value peace and quiet. It’s in the epicenter of activity. Even though it’s an oasis, the speakers blare music from the street all day. If I were the owners of this hotel, I would pay the store on the street to turn it down. I was laughing to myself how this beautiful and charming property is a victim to a small business in the street that thinks loud music lures customers. But, It was quiet at night, so no big deal to me. Would stay here again! The rooms are a little on the dark side…an extra light would be handy. Most annoyingly, we booked the hotel for its pool, only to be unable to use it one night as the hotel had leased the area to a DJ, and it was not available to use for guests. Poor form. Then for the other nights, they undertook their annual maintenance, so it was also off limits.
