The property is in the perfect location between Copacabana Beach & Ipanema Beach. Some of the staff members were awesome . The views from this hotel are stunning . The food at the hotel is very good .

Best hotel of our vacation. On the Ipanema end of Copacabana Beach. Great bar and grill next to the rooftop pool with views of the whole beach. Main restaurant could use a more extensive menu

The Fairmont Rio Copacabana Hotel is a GREAT hotel to stay in. Very safe, extremely clean, nice ocean view, outstanding pleasant staff greeting at the door, and excellent services.

This is the best hotel in Copacabana and not just because of its great amenities and view but because the service you will receive while you stay there. I had the best time ever with my dad, they treated us in a very special way and made our stay very memorable. I will always treasure this trip in my heart and will be for ever thankful with the Fairmont team for the great service. Dont hesitate to stay here any other hotel wont be as luxury or special as Fairmont is

Great Location, but need an update.

I recently stayed at the Fairmont Rio for a week. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but the hotel is showing its age. The entire property, including the rooms, feels extremely tired, as if it hasn’t been renovated or properly maintained in at least 20 years. Many details were worn or damaged: the basin had chipped edges, some facility signs were broken, and general wear-and-tear was noticeable throughout. Worse, there seemed to be an issue in every room. My original room had an air conditioner that rattled nonstop, making it impossible to sleep properly for two nights. The staff were friendly and promptly moved me to another room, but in the new room, the shower drain didn’t work, leaving a pool of water after every use that only cleared when housekeeping came. That said, the location is unbeatable. The hotel is surrounded by fantastic restaurants and plenty of breakfast spots. It’s also just a short stroll to both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, making it ideal for exploring. The hotel breakfast was disappointing - very basic for the price. You can find much better quality and variety outside at a fraction of the cost. On the plus side, the gym was well-equipped, with dumbbells up to 26kg, four 20kg plates, and a Smith machine, a great perk for fitness enthusiasts.

I had an issue with hot water. I had to call the front desk at 3 am one night for a repair. After that, I had to leave the water on in the shower for several minutes to get the water to warm up. Also, the employee for the restaurant and pool area with the "she's the boss" tattoo on her neck area was terrible. Did not make any effort to find me a table at their restaurant even though I was a guest. I should not have to make a reservation if I am staying at the hotel. Finally, I was given no VIP access by this hotel. They did not even offer.

Not the best stay

Beautiful hotel but not worth the price. I was met at the entrance by the bellman who helped with my bags he sent me to the 6th floor to check in then disappeared with my bags I had to wait 20 min. to check in because my bags were nowhere to be found and my passport was in one of my bags. There was loud construction across the street off my balcony not the hotels fault but kinda annoying. My room had wood floors that were all scratched up. Also the room was kinda plain Jane. Nothing special The headboard had reading lights built in and the bathroom was small but nice. the elevator has stone tiles which one was broken and your foot kinda sank into. Nice view from the front pool but small swimming pool. Beside the first bellmen incident the staff was great and the bed was comfortable. But not sure I would stay there again
