The entire staff, English speaking and nonspeaking, is incredibly helpful and attentive. My family and I had an amazing time there to relax and unwind. They have multiple onsens available to male and female guests and they change the availability throughout the day. The food was an amazing dining experience as well. They have an array of tastes and bites for the breakfast meal and dinner.

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Wakakusa no Yado Maruei. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. My wife is pregnant, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate her dietary needs. They were incredibly understanding and helped us with food substitutions and adjustments so that she could comfortably enjoy our traditional Japanese meals. Their kindness and attention to detail meant so much to us and made the experience even more special. Everything about our stay was amazing, from the beautiful room and relaxing bath to the delicious food and exceptional hospitality. We felt truly cared for throughout our visit. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan, and we will remember it for years to come. Thank you to everyone at Maruei for making our stay so special. We would absolutely love to return someday!

very traditional setting, staff were very friendly and accommodating. to us westerners, our room had a strong fish smell which turned out to be new tatami mats. they were willing to change our rooms to ensure we had a restful sleep. included traditional breakfast and dinner was a fantastic experience. the staff are so so friendly and respectful. what we wish we had known before booking - people with tattoos are not permitted in the public onsen. This was not clearly listed in the description..

Staying at the Ryokan was an amazing experience. The staff was extremely polite kind and helpful. The rooms were comfortable. The Onsen was exactly the relaxation that was needed. And the best part was the food! Traditional dinner and breakfast was the highlight of our stay. Would 100 percent recommend staying here.

The staff was nice and this was authentically Japanese. Everyone was helpful. However, the beds and the pillows were very hard to sleep on. Also, they claim to have English speaking staff, but that is a stretch.

The hotel location is very convenient, and they provided a shuttle bus to pick up the guests. We ordered a Mountain View room, the sight seeing is very good, and we can sitting inside the room to watch sunset and sun rise. They provide free dinner and breakfast, and they serve the dinner in the room. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. Definitely, we will come back again. This is an amazing place for us to get the Fuji Mountains energy

This property was in a nice location overlooking the lake. From one of the onsens you could see Mount Fuji. We booked a Japanese style room where they make the beds for you daily and it was a fun experience. The staff member we had for our dinners was EXCELLENT and very friendly. The only thing to note is that there isn't much air conditioning in the rooms so prepare for warmer nights.

We did select a room with a Mt Fuji view but i should have selected one with lake view. those are much better. The food was really good (breakfast and diner). Transportation could be improved around the lake (difficult to find a bus after 5pm and taxis are also very sparse)
