The hotel is beautifully restored 1800s house with several unique rooms. My room had big bay windows that looked on to the street. Bed was comfortable. Shower was big and luxurious. Breakfast snacks were provided. Very close to Warren St and lots of shops and restaurants. Parking lot in the back was very small, but there was always parking on the street, but having to know which side of the street to park on that evening was annoying and I did see some cars with tickets who parked on the wrong side for that day. The walls and floors were not sound proof, due to the age and historical nature of the house, not great for light sleepers, but I had no trouble sleeping. Would love to come back again and enjoy the pool in warmer months.
Stayed over one night with my husband on a Hudson Valley road trip and The Amelia was true to its 5 star reviews. Misty our hostess greeted us enthusiastically upon arrival with a great tour and useful info about the amenities and the surrounding area. All the common areas are beautifully appointed and truly comfortable. Also loved the fire pit with the Adirondack chairs and the lounges by the pool . Very peaceful and totally chill. Easy walk to shops and restaurants. Will gladly return on another future trip to the area. Expedia has underrated this hotel as a 2 star ...its a 5 star level inn : beautiful , charming, clean , updated, huge bathroom with toiletries , 2 comfy bathrobes , high speed internet free snacks 24/7 , ice machine, in the kitchen plus a coffee bar plus mini fridge in the room . We loved it!
bed and breakfast vibe with hotel amenities like great beds and good showers on a tree lined street near the courthouse in Hudson. Really relaxing and comfortable eith an excellent pool!
We were in the area for a wedding and stayed a few extra days at The Amelia. We loved the hotel and had a huge 1 bedroom suite on the top floor. It felt like staying in someone’s personal home. The hotel is extremely clean and our room was kept tidy daily. There is a small kitchen area stocked with coffee, tea, drinks and snacks. It was only a few short blocks to the main part of town with great coffee shops, restaurants and stores. I would definitely book this hotel again if we are in the area again, My only complaint is we had a lot of luggage with us and you need to be able to carry it up the stairs. It didn't take away from the hotel experience but you should be aware there is no elevator and ask for help with luggage if you need it. Fantastic stay.
Beautifully maintained property with personality and great decor. Friendly, welcoming staff and thoughtful amenities. Excellent location close to restaurants and shops. Highly recommended.
The Amelia, is a beautiful place. It is spotless, quiet, close to shopping & restaurants. The decor and shared spaces are very sophisticated and cool.
We loved our stay. Misty is so sweet and accommodating. Shannon was in communication with me 24/7 making it so easy. We highly recommend Amelia. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our anniversary stay so wonderful.
We had a great time at The Amelia this past weekend. The property is beautiful, and we loved how the whole house was usable to our discretion: there was a living room with a fireplace, the kitchen was stocked with breakfast items and snacks kindly prepared by the hosts, and the backyard had a fire pit perfect for the cold weather we experienced. The rooms were also very cozy and spacious. Would definitely go back again or recommend to anyone considering a trip to the area!
Anne and Robin at The Amelia were an absolute dream come true for my recent 3 day trip to Hudson. Everything from check in to house keeping was seamless and an example of top notch customer service. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and made it an unforgettable experience. I would recommend The Amelia to anyone looking for a place to stay in Hudson or surrounding area. I will be returning sooner than I originally thought!
Clean, quiet and restful. Misty (I hope this is your name!) manages the property and greeted me and my mom when we arrived. She was highly attentive and friendly and bakes amazing brownies.
My favorite part of my stay was the bathtub (only in Room 3) and waking up to a warm quiet room and sleeping in. I live in a busy city and have not felt this relaxed in a long time. Very comfortable mattress, though I would have loved a double bed option for 2 guests.
If I would change anything, it would be to have one phone number and one point person. Anne wrote to me to confirm my booking, then I spoke with Shannon, and then with Misty once we arrived, however, I did not have Misty's number and had to communicate through Shannon. I tried texting as I wanted to leave a tip, but was ignored once I got my bags and checked out late. This was a disappointing note to leave on.
That said, everyone was so helpful and we had flexibility with check-in and check out and could store our luggage -- which was great.
Overall, the property looks and feels just like the photos. I hope to come back one day soon.
This is a quaint B&B is ideally located in the center of town and walking distance to the train. We enjoyed our stay and would go back. Staff are friendly.
