Amazing Honeymoon

Spent part of our honeymoon here and had the absolute best time. The room was nice, the grounds are beautiful, the beach is gorgeous, the service was unbeatable, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful. We also loved the heated pool. Will absolutely be back again!

Absolutely fantastic in every way. We spent every day on the beach - our room had a direct access to the beach and it was super easy. The beach is absolutely gorgeous, the staff was very friendly and accommodating- we especially enjoyed the staff who worked at the beach: Nico, Mathias and Ansel were excellent. Altogether a speechless experience.

I had a wonderful and relaxing time at La Samanna. The staff is what truly makes this place special. They are very attentive and ensure that you are well taken care of. My favorite dining experience was at the Italian restaurant, where the food was excellent overall. I also had a massage at the spa, which was incredible thanks to the experienced staff. The beach is stunning, with crystal clear waters and soft sand at your feet. If you're looking for a quiet and rejuvenating getaway, I highly recommend La Samanna. I will definitely be returning!

Like all Belmond hotels, their signature is welcoming, gracious, engaging personnel from check-in to check-out. La Samanna was no exception and the Caribbean charm of the staff added an extra dimension. We stayed 3 nights at La Samanna before taking a cruise and found the hotel lovely, its facilities excellent, cuisine outstanding and ambience very relaxing. Without fail, every engagement with the resort staff was a truly positive experience - Victor and Sabrina prior to arrival; Claude at check-in; Rosie and Eddy at D'Oursin; Pierre at the lobby bar; Amy, Mili, francois and Neomie at breakfast; Axel, Nico, Matthieu, Alexandre, Rommel, Herbert, Michele, Monique, Elika and Stephanie at Le Plaj. Our suite D11 was fabulous with an amazing terrace overlooking the beach and ocean. We would have liked the shutters closed at night to stop the sun coming into the rooms in the morning but this was not done despite our request. The beach is breathtaking and we enjoyed jet skis on the ocean. The dry brown grass is a shame and takes away from the overall charm of the resort. The restaurant L’oursin, despite many claims of a 2 star Michelin chef, was very underwhelming with odd choices in our opinion. However the view from the terrace was spectacular and Alessandro charming and knowledgeable about the wine. We would have liked to try the Italian restaurant but it was closed for dinner on both nights that we were there …

Staff was very short, none informative nor were details or guidance given to tourist/us. Communication between drivers and front desk concierge was terrible. The coat per night for the stay would suggest 5 star service, It was not. With that being said, we expected much better level of service, communication for travelers and direction considering cost of stay. Would not recommend.

This was the most wonderful vacation! The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. I have never experienced this level of customer service on any other vacation. Food and drinks were amazing from the restaurants to the beach and pool. The only criticism was that we had a plunge pool room and it’s not a plunge pool, it’s a hot tub. This was one of those vacations that you are sad to leave and can’t wait to come back.

Luxury at its finest. Best hotel on the island. One of the best in whole Caribbean. Excellent restaurants and meal options. Cant say enough. Worth every penny.
