We loved our stay at The Gate, my only gripe was the fitness room due to limited equipment. Staff were friendly & helpful, the breakfast was great & fire pit with drinks & marshmallows was a lovely touch. Great location, would recommend.

Location was great, near shopping, on bus line to Kyoto station, and walking to other areas like Gion district. Lots of food and bars nearby. Free bike rentals to bike along the river path. Staff so nice. Lounge had free drinks including wine, and snacks, including marshmallows to roast on fire pit. Bed was so comfortable, shower was great. I loved everything about it! Highly recommend!

We stayed here for two nights in the Grace Hollywood room and felt like it was big enough, loved the coffee shop that was connected to the hotel and most importantly the location was awesome. The little lounge area we were able to use hot waters that we could pick up and little snack snacks in the afternoon along with a Chardonnay and a cab that were included as well as coffee/tea

I couldn’t be happier with my stay at the Gates Hotel. The hotel was beautiful and was in a perfect location. Nishiki market was less than a 10 minute walk and there seemed to be a taxi right outside the hotel every time I needed one. The staff was very friendly and helped me set up my luggage transfer to my next hotel in Osaka. I would 1000 percent be staying here again the next time I’m in Kyoto.
