The room was clean, and the staff were friendly. The location was convenient, close to a bus stop for commuting to the city center and within walking distance of restaurants. The only downside was that the room had no wardrobe or place to hang clothes, so we had to keep everything in our luggage. Overall, it was a good place to stay, and I would recommend it!

An amazing gem in the heart of Hillcrest!! Checkin was a breeze, room was clean and spacious What made the stay so special is the cute little Gooseberries Kafe in the entry. Food was amazing & the hospitality was warm. You know the food is good when locals drop in. TY LEE & VICTORIA (?), the Kafe is a beauty!!

Such a cute stay for my first solo trip! I loved how convenient the location was and how close I was to everything I wanted to explore. As a solo traveler, feeling safe was really important to me, and I felt comfortable throughout my stay. There were some unhoused people in the surrounding area, but they weren’t disruptive and it didn’t negatively affect my experience ( maybe be a personal experience). Overall, it was a great spot for a quick solo trip, and I’d definitely stay here again!

The property was clean but unfortunately there’s quite a few homeless people right outside the property you walk past every time. 7/11 was right next door and conceived It was a contactless check in and very simple. There’s a cafe on the bottom floor I didn’t get to try but it is very convenient

I had a great stay at Abpopa Hillcrest. I only needed to stay for a single night, so my experience on the property was limited, but for the short time I spent here I found that it was clean, comfortable, and affordable. The penthouse room had a discount deal on Expedia and was wildly spacious for one person, but it was great. Things were clean, shower was hot, no issues that I encountered. As people stated yes there are a few homeless people around the area near the 24/hour 7-Eleven, but no one bothered me when I went down there at 1AM for a few groceries. The little cafe downstairs was lovely, friendly staff, and a really tasty Italian sandwich. If I ever come back to San Diego I'd love to stay here again. Would recommend if you want a unique stay that's not the usual hotel experience, but a good experience nonetheless.

Great spot to stay! Right in the middle of all of Hillcrest’s hotspots. Easy check-in with staff / hotel dog, who felt more like a friendly neighbor. The lobby turns into a breakfast spot at 8AM so grabbing a quick bite and coffee before heading out is a must. The hotel is also next to a public parking lot, which saved us a headache using SpotHero for the entire weekend without issue.

Lee and family members were extremely accommodating. Hotel was clean and location was excellent. Restaurants, markets , night life were all within walking distance . Downstairs restaurant was excellent and had great food!

Modern, clean, and convenient. The rooms are nice, but the downstairs cafe is the real winner. Great coffee and delicious breakfast options (the acai bowls are a must-try!). Would definitely stay here again.
