The hotel is way better than my expectations!!! It is so luxurious, so refined, the service and staff are excellent! It's completely new, it was finished in November 2025. The pool and amenities were so good! The beach was kept clean. I loved thevrestaurants, especially the sushi Himitsu resto! I highly recommend!

This resort was gorgeous and so much fun to stay at. The entertainment staff in particular was a highlight throughout my wife and I’s visit. Ari, Eve, and Santiago were always positive and took the time to really get to know us. Johnny, Diego, and Alex all made us feel welcome and celebrated. It was truly a special time. I loved the noon Zumba class in the pool and the beach volleyball.

Our stay: April 8-14, 2026. My husband I got food poisoning from 3 different restaurants: Bordeaux, Olio, & Skybar. To be clear, this was NOT norovirus (before anyone wants to give their opinion). Quit allowing guests to reserve loungers! This is happening too frequently at Secrets’ properties. The staff was excellent.

A wonderful time spent at the SMC resort. On this trip we didn't do the spa. It was a bit noisy than we're use to but we still had a relaxing time. We stayed as preferred club and not only was the service excellent in preferred but all over the resort. We cannot complain about the meals or our drinks and watching the entertainment outdoors under the moon and stars made it special. One drawback is they try to sell you timeshare but they did not pressure us when we declined. So thumbs up for SMC.

May 2026. Our stay was absolutely amazing!!! The property itself is beautiful with breath taking views and very well maintained. My husband and I booked the Preferred Club Governor's Suite located on the 15th floor. It was just perfect and worth the money. The room itself was nicely decorated and kept clean throughout our stay. Our housekeeper Esmeralda did a great job and was very consistent with the cleaning time so it made it easy to plan for the day. The minute we arrived at the resort, we were greeted by very friendly and professional staff. Our butler Fonzi was just AWESOME. He communicated via text everyday and to provide us with the daily activities schedule. He was on top of it for any request we had. He truly made our stay feel like we were "at home". The Preferred Club Lounge is a nice quiet place to enjoy food/drink and to take in the views. Sky Bar is a must. Great spot to hang out and to get in the pool with food/drink service available. If you show up right when they open (9am) you will have the entire place to yourself. The beach area is very well taken care of. Every morning the seaweed that washed up onto the beach the day before gets raked up for easier water access. There are lounge chairs on the beach with food/drink service available. Yes, there are vendors that come by trying to sell different things but a simple "no, thank you" takes care of it. Resort security is also on point. The Spa area and services were just perfect. This is mini paradise.

Staff is exceptional. Favorite restaurants, or the Asian and Olio. Alejandro at Olio was exceptional. We ate breakfast there every morning, but want. Ate breakfast at the buffet one time, but the food was lukewarm. The rooms are very clean excellent house cleaning service. Excellent room service for a coffee and pastries and mimosas in the morning. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is it seems like the preferred area pool area is over sold. The chairs are just right next to each other just lined up. The beach is very small. Just a few cabanas. You literally have to get out there at 7:30 and sit in the chair to save a seat on the beach or at the pool area. Other than that and being very crowded in a small resort, it was a nice stay.

A little misleading- it’s a grand RE-OPENING. It’s a remodel, not a brand new resort, like we thought. Restaurants at this resort were really good, but the Coco Cafe had Walmart-style desserts only. Since the remodel is still going on you would think the price would be less, since you have to hear all the noise and construction. And since there’s no spa yet, the massage was done in one of the regular rooms but we still paid full price for it. Sadly the poolside loungers didn’t have cushions so they are hard to lay on for more than 15 min. Would be great to have that. Oh and drinks are all super watered down and are not top shelf, even if you request it. Only the restaurants had good authentic drinks. All the staff were incredibly nice, not one bad experience. We had a great time overall.
