The room and the hotel itself were nice but there were two issues. First, it’s advertised as a river view but you can barely see the river and the view is mostly the top of an adjacent parking garage. Second, when booking, I paid for breakfast for two and when we went down to have breakfast they claimed I only paid for a discount and we had to pay an additional $25. I would’ve said forget it but we had already made our plates when they informed me of this. Overall just didn’t match what I booked and what I paid for regarding those two things. But we did have a nice time otherwise and the room was very clean.

My stay at the Westin Newport was overall very pleasant. The room was comfortable, the facilities were well maintained, and the cleaning staff were truly exceptional — attentive, thorough, and consistently friendly. Their work made a noticeable positive impact on my stay. That said, the reception experience did not match the same standard. The front desk staff were polite but somewhat mediocre in terms of engagement and helpfulness, especially compared to the high level of service I’ve experienced at other Westin properties. I also noticed two small but important gaps in the room amenities. The bathroom did not include any toothbrush holders or cups, which made basic daily use inconvenient. Additionally, the in‑room coffee maker was stocked with only two paper cups, which feels insufficient for a hotel of this level. These are relatively minor issues, but addressing them — along with improving the reception service — would elevate the overall guest experience significantly. The rest of the stay was excellent, and with a few adjustments, it could easily be outstanding.
