I booked two rooms for my group, both rooms were the Townhouse Grand option. Upon arrival we were greeted by Mick who was very helpful and kind and assisted us with our bags as the hotel does not have a lift, which we were aware of. The rooms we were placed in were in the basement level and unfortunately you can hear everything in the rooms. The staff entrance is outside the rooms, which we learned due to people coming in loudly in the middle of the night. The first night we were woken up at around 2am and were afraid as we did not know there was a staff entrance until the next day when we mentioned it. The noise continued the second night as well. We were unable to sleep either night of our stay due to this. Also, the rooms we were in had scuffs all along the walls and chips throughout multiple surface areas. For the price point of the hotel, I expected it to be in better shape. Overall the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and we did enjoy the location of the hotel.
The BEST ever! I have traveled frequently and for many many years. My stay at the Nira Caledonia has been my best experience yet
The many staff people helping to make our stay comfortable and luxurious were warm, kind and efficient
The room we had was a junior suite at 10 Gloucester. It was generously spacious with many many bureaus and cabinets to store our clothes and toiletries, three floor to ceiling windows adorned the room along with a very comfortable couch as well as the amenities of TV and refrigerator, delicious tea, and a lovely assortment of coffees and cookies
The townhouse grands were on the second floor and as seniors we decided to upgrade to a one floor up junior suite
We are returning here again in a few days because honestly between the lovely quiet neighborhood, the attentive staff and the comfortable beds and pillows, there would be no place better place to be
Friendly staff, lovely decor and amenities. Breakfast was delicious too!

Boutique hotel about 25-30 min walk from main attractions such as royal mile, Edinburgh castle etc. Quiet, safe neighborhood. We had family room with double bed and pull out sofa. The mattresses were uncomfortable and should be replaced. There was a giant jacuzzi tub which was nice after a long day of travel and sight seeing but I would have preferred to skip the jacuzzi tub and just have a larger bathroom/shower. The breakfast was OK. Overall, it was fine. Staff were friendly. I think a bit overpriced.
Great spot a little out of the main area but lovely nonetheless! We were on the top floor so be aware without a lift it is quite the effort to get luggage up the stairs. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were friendly
Located at Stockbridge yet a short walk from the city centre. Our second visit here and it’s so nice. The staff ate so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is so good.
Very nice property. Be advised there is no elevator and our room was on the top floor which was 65 winding stairs some very narrow to bring our bags up and down. They did serve a very good breakfast which was included. Also be advised that there is no air conditioner and we were on the 5th floor with just a fan.

Good location, walking distance to old town. Somewhat historic building, nice but has problems. No lifts, difficult to climb stairs with luggages. Friendly staff, ready to help. Restaurant average.
