Fantastic boutique hotel in fabulous location overlooking Capetown waterfront
Lovely private pool and loungers for residents with excellent pool drinks and food service
Room massive and well designed
Can’t recommend this hotel enough. We had such a lovely stay. The rooms were huge and the balcony was a huge added plus. Everyone working there was so friendly and went out of their way to help us. The location is beyond perfect- it’s super safe and walkable to the V&A and Oranjezicht market. Some reviewers negatively compared it to the neighboring Queen Victoria hotel, but we actually preferred how close the Dockhouse is to the pool area. We’ll definitely stay again on our next trip to Cape Town.
The staff where delightful . Professional helpful and very kind . Nothing was too much trouble especially Ashley was particularly good and deserves a special mention.
Thank you
The staff were incredible throughout, we loved them and their friendly helpful ways and will miss them.
The situation is also excellent with many amenities nearby.
Room service was also excellent BUT the noise from the Irish pub over the road was awful and completely disrupted our sleep on the 2nd night which was a Friday night, and partially disrupted it on the Saturday night.
Breakfast at the Dock House Boutique hotel was also really uninspiring - small room felt claustrophobic and the food was very plain with croissants and bread that seemed a couple days old.
I think we could have done better at another local hotel.
Everything was great. If you’re looking for a waterfront stay, definitely recommend the place. The pool is shared with the nearby hotels so gets quite busy during the afternoons.
Special thanks to Donovan and the rest of the staff who made our stay wonderful!
A lovely hotel, with a personal feel. Feels like a home away from home. Comfortable and luxurious without being extravagant.
LARGE rooms with beautiful views over the waterfront.
Delicious food! A delectable menu with some inspired local tastes.
Back of house outside outside below the room. Staff very loud at 06:00

Very good apart from Television in room not working despite numerous reports to hotel.. very helpful when our flight back to uk was delayed, allowing us to keep room on.
Very amazing and friendly staff. They went out of their way to assist with all issues, including challenges with a theft of one of our mobile phones, which they volunteered to assist! Every request was promptly managed from in-room dining to opening wine. Accommodation was also provide for late checkout. The room was also comfortable and clean.
Incredible views of the V&A Waterfront from this meticulously maintained historic building. Welcome and service during our stay bordered on embarrassingly posh. Fantastic bed made you not want to get out of it despite the excellent location. Possibly the best place we have stayed at in every category.
From arrival to departure was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for Jeanette, Cynthia and the whole team. They made us feel very welcome and the service was natural and not forced in any way. The location couldn’t be any better as it’s a very short stroll away from the many restaurants and shops on the V&A waterfront. I would highly recommend the Dock House.
Fantastic stay at this perfectly located hotel.
All the staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful if they tried.
The breakfast options were brilliant. You have a choice of 3 different hotels to eat in so you can vary your options should you fancy a change.
The hotel was very clean and the rooms were very comfortable. The location on the waterfront was perfect.
Would definelty stay here again.
na verdade estou avaliando o queen victoria hotel, hotel vizinho e da mesma rede do dock house .
quando cheguei eles me comunicaram que o quarto reservado por mim estava com problemas e que eu deveria me hospedar neste outro.
fiquei chateada , pois ja tinha me hospedado no dock house e, e um hotel especial, diferenciado.
inclusive ponderei que devia ter sido avisada com antecedencia, pois poderia querer ir para outro hotel.
Unique ist surely the position and the fact that it is a very small hotel which means cosy.
What I did not like is the fact that they put the 50ZAR donation per day already on the final bill without telling in advance, although I understand that it was my decisione if I liked to pay it or not. I also thought that there was almost to much staff around the breakfast table at times.
Really lovely hotel. Only hotel we're returned to twice as we really enjoy it. Boutique, centrally located right in the heart of the waterfront. This can make it slight noisy but usally music stops at midnight. Saying this, we love sitting on the balcony absorbing the atmosphere. Staff couldn't do more for you. Decor we love.
