I felt safe here despite the desolate people hanging around the neighbourhood. The staff were very friendly. My private room was clean.
The food offered for breakfast was way above expectations!
It is an amazing place to stay.
I have frequently stayed at Sesame Hostel in different locations and have always loved my experience.
One thing I especially appreciate is their excellent employees, friendly service, and consistent hospitality.
Staff at the front desk were incredibly kind and welcoming. Room was clean and smelled nice and was ready upon arrival.
Will def be the place I try to book into whenever I come back to Vancouver :)
Staffs are accomodating and approachable. I love the breakfast and the place feels like home. .. Shops, cafes' and public transportations nearby. Butbif you aren't use to a street noise or sounds at night, might not be advisable for you. Aside from that, all good for a Solo trip-cation.
What a lovely surprise! Samesun Hostel has an incredibly pleasant & helpful staff; it was super clean; bed was comfortable; other travelers were amazingly considerate; and the location was wonderful! Plus it came with complementary breakfast. Have only stayed in a hostel 3 times before, and could not have been more pleased with this place!
Stayed for the first time. Everything was perfect, breakfast, beds, front desk, dining areas, food items etc. Only thing they need to improve is their bathroom sizes. They were too small. Rest everything was good.

Liked: Cleanliness
Great location in the CBD, easy to get to from the airport. Just really hot rooms
Was nice and clean, met some great people, love that they do daily activities/tours for tourists. Location is good as Granville St is right in downtown. Really good spot for those solo travelling, highly recommend!
Perfect and safe location located in the midst of everything. Loved all the security in the building. Loved the aesthetic of the property. Decent and healthy breakfast. Some rooms are a bit too darn tight and noisy with the lock box. Manageable though for temporary stays
Much much cleaner than I would’ve expected for a hostel stay! There are many employees and they all seem quite committed to maintaining the communal space, a respectful atmosphere, and a clean space. They are constantly cleaning sheets, showers, and bathrooms, and you can really tell as all of these facilities are very clean despite so many people coming in and out. I stayed in a single bed out of a room with 6 beds but they have blackout curtains for each bed that give good privacy, with rollout lockers underneath that can comfortably fit your suitcase, backpack, and some more items.
I can tell the staff is passionate about maintaining this place and I would highly recommend this place to any solo travelers. 5/5
