"When I did the booking, the room I chose had a big balcony with city view. What I got, was a small balcony, with a view that was not nice at all. 3 days I didn't have water in the shower (but I told them on the 3'rd day, so that's my fault) If you have perfume allergy, be prepared for a smelly room. They have candles with smell and sticks. I had to put them out on the balcony, and leave the door open the first 12 hours, wich resulted in many moscito bites. The hot water instruction was not good....

When is the best time to go to Athens?
The best times to go to Athens are during the shoulder seasons of April to early June and September to October for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During these months, the temperatures are moderate, typically ranging from the mid-60s to low 80s Fahrenheit (18-28°C), making it comfortable for exploring ancient sites like the Acropolis and the Agora. You'll find that attractions are less crowded compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. This period is ideal for couples and solo travelers looking to explore the city's historical depth without the intensity of summer heat or the larger throngs of tourists.

The summer months of July and August bring very hot temperatures, often exceeding 90°F (32°C), and a significant increase in tourist numbers. While all attractions are open, the heat can make extended sightseeing challenging, and popular spots will be very busy. If you plan to visit during this time, consider scheduling outdoor activities for early mornings or late afternoons and focusing on indoor attractions during the midday heat.

Conversely, the winter months from November to March are cooler and wetter, with some attractions potentially having reduced hours. While you'll experience the fewest crowds and potentially lower prices on accommodations, the weather can be unpredictable.
Where can I find the best nightlife in Athens?
Athens has several distinct nightlife districts, each with a different focus.

The area around Monastiraki and Thissio is a popular choice for visitors. You'll find a concentration of rooftop bars with views of the Acropolis, as well as casual tavernas and cafes that stay open late. Many of these establishments are located on Adrianou Street and around Monastiraki Square.

Plaka, while primarily a daytime area, offers some late-night options, particularly traditional Greek tavernas with live music. These are often found on Kydathinaion Street and surrounding alleys, providing a relaxed setting for drinks and food.

Gazi is a former industrial area that has transformed into a nightlife destination. It's known for its numerous dance clubs, electronic music venues, and larger bars. The main activity is centered around the Technopolis cultural complex and surrounding streets.

Kolonaki is an upscale neighborhood with a sophisticated nightlife. Here, you'll find elegant cocktail bars and stylish lounges, often attracting a more discerning crowd. Many of these establishments are on Anagnostopoulou Street and Tsakalof Street.

Exarchia is known for its alternative scene. It features a concentration of rock bars, small live music venues, and cafes that often host cultural events. The area around Exarchia Square and Valtetsiou Street is particularly active.

Koukaki, situated near the Acropolis Museum, has become known for its relaxed evening options.
