Great place to stay but no AC and the shower water temp was excessively hot, even on cold. But still, for an old house, that’s impressive. The host was kind. Food was decent, nice variety
This is a great place! The host was helpful and responded to questions quickly. He was able to provide a spot to secure our bicycles. The breakfast was 10/10! We loved our room and the bathtub. This was a perfect stay. Lovely neighborhood with many food choices in walking distance. Can’t wait to return!
The New Victorian Mansion Bed & Breakfast is one of our new favorite places to stay. It is an absolutely stunning piece of history. Mohammed went above and beyond to accomodate us, even though our dog was larger than they can usually accomodate. He was so kind and helpful, our trip was made immeasurably better because of how great this property is!
We had a great stay. The check in process was super easy. We never saw any of the other guest staying, felt like we had the whole house to ourselves. The home was big, beautiful and so was our room.
I had a great stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. I arrived late and needed only a bed and shower. While I'm not normally a person who likes sharing a bathroom, I thought it was well run and I would definitely stay there again.
Very cool bed and breakfast with friendly staff. Gorgeous rooms. Feels like a bit of a maze to get around, but that’s how old Victorian house are. We did have some trouble getting the correct codes to unlock the front door and our room door. Staff got it figured out for us quickly though.

Beautiful building. Shoes off…excellent breakfast. Library suite a bit stuffy, no control over temperature, no fan. EZ off street parking, quiet neighborhood.
Upper level rooms are not well air conditioned, a fan in the room helped. Views are not very impressive out small windows with defective shades.
Would be nice if there was at least a small tv with cable in the rooms rather than going to one of two TV’s available for all in shares space.
Convenient short walk to St Paul Cathedral & some dining & free parking was a plus.
The proprietor showed me around the B & B, but I never saw him again. While I knew I would be sharing a bathroom, I didn't anticipate that it would be down a short flight of stairs. In fact, the whole B & B seemed to be a labyrinth of hallways and stairs. I had trouble getting back into my room after my shower even though I had the key. Other guests tried to help me, but I eventually got it on my own. We had tried to find the owner, and he seemed to be absent. I had a nice cup of coffee, but didn't have time to stay for breakfast. I did appreciate having a dedicated parking lot for house guests so that I didn't have to park on the street. While the bedroom itself was spacious, clean and comfortable, the window shades didn't work, so I had to stack unused decorative and bed pillows against the windows--luckily there was a window seat below the windows.

Breakfasts were wonderful. Bed was comfy. Water was nice and hot. Location is great.
This was a fantastic property I'd stay at again. Some rooms are without bathroom, and are priced accordingly. Very clean, very well equipped and very friendly! Website photos do the property justice, it's just as beautiful in person.
This romantic property is a great location to stay when doing anything downtown St. Paul. It is like stepping back in time and feels like you have left the Midwest.
Excellent 5/5 stars! Not typically Bed and Breakfast - I dislike that kitsch. This elegant and quite private mini retreat had everything for a modern day female. WIFI, plush robes, heated floors, 500tc sheets and a breakfast that I truly enjoyed. Definitely will be visiting again!
Room was spotless, the owner was super polite! And to top it all off, the bathroom in my room was phenomenal!!!! Massive tub with jets and heated floors. 10/10 everything was pefect
The owner was incredibly friendly and helped accommodate our check in past the staffed hours of 4-6pm. Breakfast was ready at 9am which we had to unfortunately miss, but overall the hospitality was wonderful!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the New Victorian Mansion Bed & Breakfast in St. Paul, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations.
The room was incredibly comfortable — exactly the kind of place where you actually sleep well and wake up refreshed. And breakfast was a real highlight: fresh eggs straight from the property's own hens, cooked to perfection. You can genuinely taste the difference, and it made the morning feel special rather than just a checkbox amenity.
The location is also a huge plus. We were just a short trip from great dining and entertainment options in St. Paul, which made the whole weekend feel effortless — a peaceful retreat to come back to after a fun night out.
If you're looking for a charming, comfortable getaway in the Twin Cities area, look no further. Five stars without hesitation — we'll absolutely be back!

Very courteous staff. Comfortable bed. Roomy accommodations. I would call is shabby chic. But Victorian it is not. All the modern conveniences make it comfortable. But the decor is distinctly modern, including the art on the walls. Nice. Cheap. Shared bathroom in the sky view rooms. They ask you to strip the linens off your bed before you leave.
Room was nice. House was beautiful. Location very nice.
We went on a Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Breakfast was on our own with some eggs, cheese and bread in the refrigerator. For us no prepared breakfast.
You are asked to take your shoes off, and there are no slippers to put on. There are a lot of steps.
We were in the two twin bedroom and it was a shared bathroom. Luckily for us on Tuesday night there was no one else. So we had it to ourselves. I am not sure which rooms have shared bathrooms but that was not clear to us at the time of the reservation on Expedia.
There is a lot of potential for this B&B, but there were just a few too many details to be able to give more than a 5 rating for the room we stayed in. The host was pleasant and accommodating.
The location is excellent, with many good restaurants in walking distance. The night was as quiet as one would expect being in a city of this size. Parking is on site and free, which is also a bonus. The price for the small top floor rooms is also a value, but should have been a bit of a yellow flag.
The main building and shared areas are well maintained, clean and accommodating. There was also new carpet throughout the top floor we stayed on.
Unfortunately, the positive items stop here. There are visible patch spots that have not been painted, the locks are loose in the doors (this is a major safety concern), the trim, there were visible hand prints on the windows. There does appear to be AC, but it did not do much in our room. There was a fan, but there are no screens on the windows in the room we stayed in, so a mosquito or two did find their way into the room...while we tried to cool off the room. Not great.
The comforter/top cover was visibly grungy and went straight to the floor. There were also visible stains on the decorative pillows. The bed was OK, but not much more.
Just be aware you are getting what you pay for here, and you'll be OK. I would definitely suggest upgrading to a larger lower level room for the summer months.
This was the best part of one of the most fantastic solo weekend adventures I’ve ever been on. Booked a room last minute and am I ever glad I did!?? The host was lovely. The home was lovely. 10/10, would definitely stay here again!!
