The location of the Kasa is great, very near Union Square. This is a very old building, and it shows. Our room had a very strong disinfectant/cleaning solution odor that would not go away despite our efforts to dissipate it by leaving windows open during the daytime. The property is fine if you are looking for relatively lower rental rates in a good location.

I want to say first and foremost that the staff is very quick to respond to any needs you may have or encounter. I will say the first morning there we went to take a shower and water was spraying all over from the showerhead and then it fell off. They did come and repair it later in the morning. The next day we came back from excursions and our TV and the mini fridge were not working. They had that remedied within an hour of being notified of the problem - even though it was after 9 PM. It can be noisy at the front of the building but there is nothing they can do about that. It is very cute and quaint place. We would definitely consider staying here again. The only real recommendations I can make is a fan in the room in the closet and a coffee pot in the room. I am sure many enjoy the kitchen in the basement, but it would be nice to not have to go all the way downstairs to get a cup of coffee.

I stayed here for a week and I appreciated the offerings at this location. It was very conveniently located in the Union Square neighborhood, walking distance from bus stops and streetcars. The nearest metro/BART lines are farther away, though, so take the bus or get a rideshare. You are also close to the Tenderloin, so be mindful of where you walk or pick up a ride or bus! My room was nice and quiet the week I was there and I appreciated the kitchen area a lot when I was bringing things back for meals. The staff were very kind and helpful too! I had an issue with the change machine when I was doing laundry, which wasn't able to be fixed when I was there. If this happens, there is a laundromat around the corner that you can use that works just as well that has change machines too. I'd definitely consider staying again if I came back!

Clean and spacious room—we stayed in a Queen Room with Bay Windows. The bathroom was large with great water pressure, and the location is excellent. Definitely a great place to stay again when we return to San Francisco.

Hotel room is on the smaller side ! It was cute and cozy but smaller than expected. The interior was very clean and super modern, I was impressed. There is no AC so if that’s something that is a must , keep this in mind. They do however offer a fan and heater. Staff is very responsive online which is a plus and anytime check in was perfect for me.

Overall good for the price. Clean private bathroom. Pillows and comforters need to be renewed as there were blood stains on them. I used the clean pillows though. Overall it does the job. I liked the no reception concept. Using digitally locked keys is secure and smart. All the stores are nearby. Location is good.
