This is my second time staying at the Asbury Hotel and I have been very happy with the room, the amenities, and the cleanliness of the hotel both times. My room (with a queen bed) was very comfortable and had everything I needed. The staff was both friendly and very helpful. I very much enjoyed getting to use the bowling alley this trip, along with others from the group I was with. I also really enjoyed hanging out by the pool in the evening, sitting around the fire pit. The hotel is very close to the Asbury Park Boardwalk, which is a bonus, especially on a beautiful weekend in October like the one we had. Five stars all around!
The Asbury hotel has a beautiful property that is extremely clean and well maintained. Interior rooms are fun, clean, and up to date. The only downfall is the small size of the room for in season prices.
My family absolutely loved this hotel. It’s beautiful, the staff is super friendly and helpful and we were in walking distance of the boardwalk/beach. I was disappointed that they were not showing any rooftop movies during the week we were there as that was one of the things my kids were most excited about and I didn’t know the rooftop area was a bar and only accessible to patrons 21 and over. We had a great time,
Great location. Super cool lobby and decor. Fun amenities including free bicycles and beach towels. Rooms are very small and don’t have carpets or rugs just bare linoleum which is not cozy and makes for a lot of sand on your feet and in bed.
Staff was not helpful. Doorman was playing on his phone as we were trying to get luggage from car in rain. He stood in a rain cost and did not even open door! Front desk was not helpful on any amenities or “resort” features. Even with a daily $40 resort fee. Staff seem unmotivated. Trash was overflowing in lobby with beer cans and old pizza and rooms were very small like a dorm room.
The cost to value is not there at The Asbury. So disappointing and even asked for upgraded room & happy to pay more than the 400+ per night. Having stayed at “The Berkley” across the street - there is no comparison. The Berkeley has attentive staff, beautiful rooms, ocean views, and classy service from people who care.
Coffee not available in the room or in the lobby, other than 1 poor barista you could purchase a coffee from and usually waited at least 10-15 minutes each morning. The benefit was that the food at the coffee stand was delicious.
Paid for an “upgraded” King suite room, but it was tiny and not well maintained. Felt like the rooms and hotels had a mild update to them some years ago, but it felt like lipstick on a pig. Worst part is we were right next to the elevator, and our pillows were basically buzzing from the elevator operating most of the evening.
Won’t choose to stay there again.
