Stay in a cozy mountain village with lots of activities year round, including hiking, biking and all sorts of snow sports.

Tucked into the base of two mountains, Whistler Village in Canada’s British Columbia is a vacation destination throughout the year. In winter, incredible skiing occurs on the popular Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. During the summer, hike, bike or zipline through majestic scenery. Stay at one of many hotels in the pedestrian-friendly village to fully enjoy what the region has to offer.

Try bobsledding or guide your own skeleton at the Whistler Sliding Centre. Professional instructors will soon help you to emulate your sporting heroes.

Choose from skiing groomed trails to going down a mountain through powder snow on a heli-ski tour. Explore an ice cave year round with a helicopter excursion in hard-to-reach areas or take the chopper for a picnic in the backcountry.

Go mountain hopping on the Peak 2 Peak gondola or walk a 430-foot (130-meter) suspension bridge from Whistler Peak. The Vallea Lumina attraction lets you explore the woods at night while being immersed in a magical light show.

These and other activities add to the appeal of the village. Find stores selling luxury items, cigars, sportswear and groceries. Restaurants and drinking establishments are just as plentiful. Arts and cultural centers feature regional and national talent, while museums have local artifacts as well as visiting exhibitions. Pamper yourself at one of many spas throughout the village and participate in the community’s exciting nightlife.

The Village Stroll is a pedestrian route through the community between shops, restaurants and hotels. The village’s Valley Trail is over 25 miles (40 kilometers) long for walking, biking, rollerblading or skiing to neighborhoods, natural attractions and picnic areas.

Drive to the Whistler Village region from Vancouver, about 75 miles (120 kilometers) south. Leave your car parked while in Whistler Village and travel around on the free shuttle.
