We had an amazing time staying at Umami. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, the staff was amazing and the location was close to the beach. Also the drinks from the bar, 10/10. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Puerto Viejo!

We stayed for a week at the Umami Hotel and it was wonderful. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and offered helpful suggestions. We loved our time in Puerto Viejo and at this hotel. We ate breakfast at Umami everyday and they served good-size portions of high quality food. There are many great staff members at the hotel, but I’d like to specifically recognize Ramundo, Tony, and Rodney for making our stay extra special. Great Hotel

Excellent location, just a short walk to the beach and nearby restaurants. The staff were fantastic, and the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend booking one of the rooms with a private sun bed by the pool for an extra touch of relaxation.

Wonderful

Umami was such a wonderful boutique hotel. The staff was so awesome and giving. The hotel itself was perfect for my solo trip. The middle of town and a short walk to the beach or several restaurants and markets. I especially liked the fact that you could interact with locals and not only tourists and it was only a tuk tuk ride away to really nice beaches further down the coast. So looking ready for my return to CR and will def be staying here!

The Umami is a wonderful oasis in Puerto Viejo. Very nice room (no moisturizer provided tho) and the shower was nice. The staff is VERY helpful and would stay there again if we were in the area

Starting with the Breakfast, excellent!! Their rice and beans should win a award and I am Jamaican so that is definitely a compliment. Best hotel in the area and you must go to eat at Lcangrejo Rojo. Caribbean seafood. Chef Larry is 5 star.
