The Charlie is a unique property--an adorable cluster of English-style cottages set around a shady green courtyard. Step out through the gate onto a quiet residential street not far from the bustle of West Hollywood. The best of both worlds! My "room" was a small apartment with separate kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bath--spacious and homey. I also spent time sitting out on the small private patio in front of my unit--peaceful and relaxing. I would love to return for a longer stay!

Charming and spacious bungalow to celebrate my husband's 50th. Close to West Hollywood. Found a fantastic vegan restaurant and checked out the Woods. Highly recommend if you're looking for something unique.

A Hidden Oasis with All the Comforts of Home The Charlie is an absolute gem of a boutique hotel. It is an older property, but it has been beautifully renovated to offer a peaceful, hidden sanctuary complete with beautiful garden, private patios in a quieter area of town. The room itself is beautiful, has an exceptionally comfortable bed and large pillows, spacious comfortable separate living room, a great TV setup with tons of channels, and the massive bonus of a full stainless steel kitchen. If you are looking for an incredibly cute, character-filled getaway with great amenities and tranquil outdoor spaces, this place is a perfect choice. I’ll definitely be going back.

Omg…. This place was old school Hollywood at its finest! Fantastic location on a quiet residential street just off Melrose. The cottages are adorable and well appointed. The staff is friendly and attentive, but note they front desk closes at 5pm, so arrangements need to be made if you arrive later (which they totally accommodate)! It’s like a Bed and Breakfast but without the breakfast. Would absolutely stay here again!

Memorable stay in a beautiful and serene space with unique architecture and history, practically an oasis in West Hollywood. We stayed in the Charlie cottage and had everything and more to feel comfortable and at home there, wish we could have stayed a full week.

I reserved the Steve studio for a two night stay, The Charlie is absolutely charming, I chose it for the wonderful Chaplin connection, it’s style, kitchen facilities and it’s proximity to my meetings. It had its own pretty flower filled garden. The bed was very comfortable, the decor lovely, the kitchen small, perfect with a great cooker and fridge and the bathroom was clean and bright. The desk in the room was perfect for my work. The second night it was difficult to sleep, because of the people socialising above me with their windows open and footsteps are loud, there was a slight smell of damp in the wardrobe cupboard, which may have been from the washing machine in there. The staff were kind and attentive, the gardens are peaceful and gorgeous, I enjoyed the large sunny communal deck and I was kindly given a late checkout, which I really appreciated. I would very happily stay there again.

The room we stayed in was very nice and well maintained. The room had modern conveniences with out taking away from the history of the property. Staff was very nice and approachable. The only regret is that we only stayed one night and did not get to enjoy all the features of the property.

The Charlie Hotel and our ‘Steve’ room in particular was a great place for us to base ourselves in West Hollywood. It had enough space and all the amenities that you would need. The bed was comfortable, and there was a full kitchen and washing machine and dryer. Staff that we encountered were very friendly and professional. The only negative was the frankly ridiculous rule that was stuck to the kitchen wall forbidding the cooking or microwaving of fish with the risk of a $250 fine from the hotel. As a couple who enjoys eating fish every day or two, this was very inconvenient. It seems, if odors are the issue, that spicy curries or food full of garlic would be more of a concern. I’m just glad we didn’t go to the supermarket before we checked into the room and saw the sign, otherwise we would’ve had a lot of fish going to waste! Never had this “fish policy” in any other place we’ve stayed in across the globe.

I got the privilege of staying in the Dylan, and Ruth. I loved both, equally. The staff were delightful, experienced and accommodating. The Charlie has managed to maintain a low profile, making it very special and exclusive among the “local” patrons. mmake this place

Walkable to so much - restaurants, activities, etc. Parking available, but Uber is always nearby. Excellent staff. Beautiful property and homey. Great water pressure. Remember these were bungalows built years ago, so if you have a room with stairs, they may be steep for older people. There are other options.

We loved the Charlie . We felt safe. Nice neighborhood. Gated property and parking. Charming cottage feel to the suites. Walkable to restaurants. Full kitchen. Comfortable bed and living room. Stayed in the Marlene suite. Expensive but all of la is. Would recommend.

Beautiful property in a great location. Enjoy the low key, private feeling. Each unit has a full kitchen, outdoor space and washer/dryer. Comfortable and clean. Only negative would be the thin walls. You can really hear everything outside the room, however, it is generally pretty quiet.
