Love the place! Will recommend make plans for the excursions ahead of time.
Everyone there is so nice and they extremely flexible with your changes.
Would strongly recommend it to anyone who is going to the Maldives!!
Our stay at Baros Maldives for our honeymoon was nothing short of perfection. The island’s pristine beauty and incredible house reef made our trip truly special, but what made it unforgettable was the world-class hospitality. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our butler, Sam, whose attentive and seamless service took care of our every need throughout our stay. Special thanks also go to Totto and Umak at the restaurant, whose warm, gracious hospitality and wonderful dining service made every meal a delight. Thank you to the entire Baros team for creating memories we will cherish for a lifetime—we cannot recommend this resort enough!
WE have been to the Maldives over 30 times and have experienced nearly 20 islands. Initially we went with our children , now we travel as a couple . We now often visit two islands and usually finish on Baros as we know we will finish on a high. They know what we like and without asking now they try and cover all our requests. We like our holiday to run smoothly, we spend our days snorkelling on a house reef on the island with no boat transfer. and reading and want to finish with a good quality a la carte meal.
Even though we have been to Baros nine times we still see different fish on their reef. It is a peaceful island and all the staff are very friendly and have a very good work ethos and work as a team.
Elbo did a fantastic job keeping our room clean whilst we were at breakast/ evening meal ( something we like) and yet again Saeed helped make everything run smoothly. We ate at all three restaurants and had a variety of different foods (one of our favourites the lobster bisque at the Lighthouse restaurant). We are looking forward to returning in January with one of our daughters who goes out diving most days.
Baros offers a beautiful natural setting with excellent snorkeling steps from your room. We loved the beach villa design and appreciated the excellent service during our short stay and the many options for dining and activities (fun for couples or families)

An incredible resort. The cocktails and food are excellent, with the Lighthouse restaurant bordering on Michelin star quality. The variation of food and drink options across the 3 restaurants and 2 bars is vast.
A special mention is required on the service, which is second to none. From our private butler Saeed to the numerous staff across housekeeping, the restaurants and bars, the quality and attention to detail is unlike anything I have experienced before. Throughout our 7 nights at Baros there were no flaws - I cannot recommend this resort enough.
We have been fortunate to stay in many high-end hotels before and Baros tops them all.
An absolutely perfect stay.
Everything about this hotel was exceptional – from the beautiful surroundings to the outstanding service. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the very first moment. The room was immaculate, the atmosphere was peaceful, and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. The snorkeling experience was truly unique, with an incredible house reef right at the doorstep. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.
A magical place to escape reality and relax. The property was intelligently laid out it never felt busy, beach rooms are fabulous. All 3 restaurants are superb with brilliant service. Excellent Spa, marine centre and the house reef is amazing.
The Baros Island is beautiful and has an amazing house reef, with plenty of sharks, turtles, rays and an amazing array of beautiful fish. The resort in parts is a little tired and but the management are on the case. The food and service were first class and made for an delightful two weeks. Our host Shinta was excellent, no request was too much trouble and she was on hand to assist with any issues that arose. A special mention to Keeth in F&B his dedication to service and guest care were excellent. As was Chef Lakshitha in his warm hospitality and wonderful menus/creations.
Baros is more than just a beautiful resort in the Maldives.
We did not have a single truly sunny day during our stay, and yet we left completely satisfied. That probably says more about Baros than anything else.
We came expecting to enjoy the Maldives, but realized that what we were really enjoying was Baros itself.
The island is quiet, intimate and beautifully maintained, with nature always remaining the main character. The house reef and drop-off are wonderful for snorkeling directly from the island, the food was consistently excellent, and every meal felt like part of the experience rather than simply dining at a resort.
Most impressive was the hospitality. Our Villa Host, Mika, was warm, attentive and genuinely thoughtful throughout our stay. She helped us with everything while always maintaining the perfect distance. The same spirit could be felt throughout the staff.
Small details stayed with us: receiving the sarongs we wore during the Maldivian dinner as gifts, and being given two little hand-carved wooden turtles by housekeeping on our final night.
Baros does not feel like a luxury resort trying to impress you. It feels like an island that has been carefully loved and refined over many years.
We especially recommend it to couples who want to spend their time quietly but meaningfully, surrounded by nature, excellent food and genuine hospitality.
We had no sunny days, and it did not matter. We came to the Maldives, but we fell in love with Baros.
Baros is a dream destination, located in between a lagoon and a beautiful reef. By the way, the house reef is incredible and you can spot many species, including sharks, turtles, rays and hundreds of species of fish.
The staff is super friendly and the breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had. I would definitely recommend it and I want to go back.
The Baros Hotel was one of the best resort experiences we have ever had! The island itself is beautiful and the resort blends in nicely with the environment. The staff were excellent and even helped us with staying on the island until our 1:45 AM flight. The food was excellent, especially the French cuisine at The Lighthouse. We will definitely come again. Shout out to our fantastic butler, Rau. She made everything she did seem effortless.
This is a peaceful retreat. The service is incredible, they are there but don't hassle you all the time asking if everything is alright. The transfers both to and fro from the airport are seamless we have been here five times and never had a problem. The food is really good with plenty of options. The reef has many fish, despite having rain most of the week we saw turtles, sharks, ray and over a 100 different fish. The reef is easily accessible from the shore in both low and high tide.
The food at Baros is top notch. Breakfast was fantastic every day that I was there. I stayed in an overwater villa with great views. Snorkeling at the house reef gave way to views of wonderful underwater life. When I come back to Maldives, I will book this place without hesitation. As for the expedia option of pre-paying for dinner, don't. Just go a la cart and not feel obligated to eat at the same restaurant. It's priced such that you are getting the maximum priced items on the menu each night and only includes one of the three restaurants. The food is great at that restaurant though, so no complaints there. I would have preferred more flexibility in how I used those funds.
We have been on many trips around the world. The Baros Maldives trips is hands down the greatest trip. I think the beauty of the place is found in the size of the place and the services. The island is not huge and sprawling. Therefore, everything is at your fingertips. Want a massage? Walk 2 minutes over here. Want a GOOD bite to eat? Walk 3 minutes over here. Want a drink, a smoke, and to play some billiards? Walk 3 minutes here. Want to snorkel on a reef that other visitors on other islands have to travel an hour to do? Walk 5 minutes over here. They have their own house reef (which is rare in Maldives) with every possible marine animal you can imagine. Tons of colorful fish, colorful corals, sharks (do not worry they are not bad), rays, lobsters, turtles…a lot.
Want to just chill in a pool? Well you probably have one in your villa, so walk 10 seconds to it. Or walk 3 minutes to the infinity pool.
All of this is at your hands, so there is no wasted time. Instead of trying to figure out where you are going, you are already there enjoying. You cannot put a price on time, and this resort is a time-saver. The best vacation, and we have visited 30 countries.
Shout out to our butler Reema, and attendant Shah. They were the best. Yes, you have a butler and attendant 24/7. Did I forget to mention that?
Excellent staff, very clean and well maintained villas, great food, nice housereef. Love our beach villas . Highly recommended for those who want to spend a nice, peaceful and cozy holiday with good snorkeling experience.
