Stayed at the hotel for our honeymoon and it was an incredible experience. The view is simply breathtaking and the castle is extremely charming. Food (breakfast and diner) and wine at the restaurants are high quality, inspired and locally sourced, though expensive. Their Brunello is VERY good. The thermal spa experience is unique in the region and is awsome, especially during the fall season when it is cooler outside. The room was super clean and the staff was very helpful throughout the entire week, and we felt welcomed at any time of day. 15 min by car from Montalcino, strongly recommend to rent a car since it is slightly remote. Overall 9.5/10, strongly recommend for a special occasion.

one of the best place to enjoy Tuscany area. there are 2 very beautiful pool in the top of the hill, and a very nice restaurant facing west where you can see fantastic sunset.

This property was amazing from the moment we booked. Chiara was extremely helpful with looking into horseback riding and other tours for us. I made a mistake in booking and she caught it and corrected it before we even arrived. She was great. Additionally, the room was beautiful and really clean. The food was delicious and every waitstaff that we encountered was polite and attentive--it could not have been a better experience.

Fantastic location, perhaps the most beautiful in Tuscany. Unfortunately, the restaurant and the food were not good enough for this price range, and the service should have been better. We will not be returning; it did not feel worth the money, especially considering there are many other hotels that offer a higher level of quality and service.

Such a beautiful and magnificent place to stay. The pools were stunning, and the room was lovely overall. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, although responses through WhatsApp could be quite slow. Unfortunately, the AC in my room stopped working in the middle of the night. I called room service, but they were unable to fix the unit or offer any alternative accommodations, so I had to spend the rest of the night sleeping in a very hot room, which was quite uncomfortable. Another concern was that the floors became extremely slippery after showering, which felt unsafe. Overall, it’s a beautiful property with wonderful amenities and kind staff, but I hope the hotel improves its response time and how it handles maintenance issues, especially when they significantly affect a guest’s comfort and safety.

Staying here was a wonderful and truly unique experience. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the challenges we had with the air conditioning in our room. That said, the staff really did make an effort to find a workaround for us. While it wasn’t a perfect solution, it definitely helped, and we appreciated how responsive and accommodating they were. The hotel itself is an old castle, and that alone makes staying here such a special experience. The property is beautiful, incredibly charming, and very well maintained. You simply can’t replicate the character, history, and ambiance that come with staying in a property like this. The setting and surroundings are beautiful. It was definitely one of those experiences that felt uniquely Italian and added something special to our trip. My only recommendation would be to visit when the temperatures aren’t quite as hot. Given the age and historic nature of the property, I can appreciate that modernizing certain things like the air conditioning may not be as straightforward as it would be in a newer hotel. During cooler weather, I imagine our experience would have been close to perfect. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and are glad we had the opportunity to experience such a beautiful and unique property. I would absolutely recommend it, just perhaps not during the hottest part of the summer!

Me and my wife stayed there for our honeymoon. We had an exceptional time. The service was exceptional. The pools and amenities were very nice. Great! Breakfast was just free. Located close to montel Chino and many great wineries. Specifically, we really enjoyed the wine tasting. The entire staff were great but here were some standouts , We were helped by Kristian who made us feel extremely welcomed and Morris who performed our wine tasting and he was an exceptional. Strong recommendation, great value.

Our second stay at CDV. Such a special place in Tuscany. The hotel has made many improvements since our last stay, and has nothing but 5 star amenities, the friendliest staff, and the incredible castle hotel with views of the Tuscan countryside. This is world class luxury. The spa is in a league of its own, the restaurant and chefs are making top quality cuisine. I can not wait to come back!
