the room was not ready when we arrived we waited over 1 hour so i checked again still not ready so i asked if they had another ready and available and she was able to give us a different room similar but not what we expected but we made the best of it I think they were a little short staffed for the winter months
since they gave us the room so late i asked if we could just check out a little later she said no so i insisted that we should get some compensation and after speaking to her manager they gave us 10% off the first night and i agreed the restaurant and the grounds are always lovely and you cant complain about that
The hotel is in a very good location, and the staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel needs some tender loving care.
The breakfast buffet options need much improvement.
Awhanee is the luxury hotel in Yosemite Valley located in the midst of huge granite mountains lush green trees and beautiful lakes. You have dining options and shopping
First, reading the negative review, I was worried. OMG, when we arrived to check in the guest service workers, were so friendly, courteous and helpful. Our room was facing the mountain view, which was incredible. I had read reviews, so I knew to make reservations for mealtimes we wanted, which worked perfect. One of the hostess Nina was so positive seating us near a window where on the 1st morning there were deer in the meadow. Our waitress who we had the entire time was Caralien was so attentive made breakfast so enjoyable. The elevator operators so courteous, housekeeper cleaned are room every day. We went off season, so there is basically only one other place open for food, near the visitor center Degnan's kitchen delicious sandwiches and soup and the workers so accommodating. I recommend this hotel its history, location is a must. We were able to see everything and hike trails without leaving the park. When driving into the park it was snowing and there are no side railing or mile markers. We rented a AWD vehicle so we had no problem driving in the snow. Looking out our window at half dome, seeing waterfalls, watching deer. It was amazing. Landing in Fresno we took an hour detour to Sequoia National Park, since we couldn't check in our room till 4pm. Was so worth it, then we drove to Ahwahnee. Enjoyed breakfast the next day and went to Mirror Lake, checked out El captain, Bridal veil Falls went to Tunnel view a must. Then we went hiking Mariposa Falls, so hard.
Elegant historic hotel, with lovely sitting areas on the main level that have views of Half Dome and other wonders. Lovely rooms. Dining room offers a dinner buffet that is not to be missed.
This is a bucket list property! The views are amazing. It is rich in history and the connivence of the location is an added plus. We may make this an annual trip!
It is a beautiful building and property, marred right now by construction stuff. But the interior is still beautiful, staff very friendly and helpful. And because not full, we got primo seat by big new windows for breakfast buffet - absulutely stunning.
The Ahwahnee was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. I loved my stay at the hotel which is located inside the beautiful Yosemite National Park. Customer service was exceptional. Regan at the front desk was very helpful with our room choice. I loved staying here!
