"We staid here for the grand opening 11+years ago 5*****, Hotel has been totally redone for the better. The coffee bar and ice cream bar are big pluses, reason for booking peninsula instead of Las Americas.** The remodel in the rooms was disappointing. Not enough plug ins, no place to put toiletries while using sink. No sign ups for specialty dining. The food was mediocre, hit n miss. Sports Bar cooked to order+++ They changed the Japanese to Asian cuisine it was terrible. The steakhouse was removed and replaced with a buy- in elite club for an additional $100 per night and other amenities. what happened to AI. If you have kids that's fine, but if your looking for a quiet dinner. Not going to happen. Parents were letting the kids run amok no self control and screeching. The staff across the board was excellent. We rode over to Las Americas and since our last stays there they have a coffee bar and ice cream bar added in the lobby. They have the same no reservation needed for specialty dining. They still advertise steakhouse and Japanese restaurant. This hotel is adults only . If we return to Cancun it will be to Las Americas, We have staid at RIU in Jamaica, Puerto Vallarta, and Cancun a total of 9 times. Remember even though its prepaid All Inclusive bring tip money propino as the staff really hustles and work hard, The staff was really good and attentive to requests and needs. Also be prepared to pay additional for a king bed even if you booked one ."

"My husband and I chose this resort based on the reviews, and I’ll admit we were both a little nervous at first. However, as soon as we arrived, we were able to relax and enjoy our vacation! The staff was amazing, the room was beautiful, the amenities were great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Our only disappointment was the ocean water, but that was due to the time of year we chose to visit. Other than that, our experience was AMAZING! We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this resort to others!"

"I wish the dining rooms are air conditioned. It gets very hot and uncomfortable especially during lunch time at buffet places. Staff are fri but beware of sales pitches everywhere. Love the Sunset grill, their steak is delicious and love the open outdoor seating. I wish the hotel provided more activities for guests."
