We stayed here on our overnight layover in Houston. This Hotel is rather old, but the suite we stayed in was very clean and really nice. The Air conditioning was quite loud, but not a big deal for us. Staff at front desk was the best. Handed us some water and communication was great. They did their best. It’s one of the best places that we have stayed. The room was so clean and comfortable. The ceiling fan was so nice to have. The staff went above and beyond to help us with our stay. The breakfast was delicious and definitely served up with some good coffee.

Very comfortable hotel with plenty of space. The suite was larger than I expected and very accommodating for our party of six. My brother enjoyed the outdoor patio area to relax and smoke a few cigars. The breakfast buffet was also excellent with fresh tasty food and abundant choices. It was a fantastic stay right before we departed the next morning to Galveston Port for our cruise.

Disappointing Stay – Definitely Room for Improvement Unfortunately, our stay was far from pleasant. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk to greet us. Once someone finally showed up, they seemed to be in a bad mood and were not very welcoming. When we got to our room, it appeared clean at first glance, but the furniture was extremely outdated, and the beds were clearly past their prime and in need of replacement. We stepped out for a while, and when we returned, the hotel felt practically deserted. There was no one at the front desk, just a sign instructing guests to call a phone number if they needed assistance. The lobby lights were already dimmed, which made the entire atmosphere feel uncomfortable and honestly a little creepy. Not exactly the welcoming or secure environment you expect from a hotel. The one positive part of our stay was breakfast. The lady preparing breakfast was wonderful! She was attentive, friendly, and made sure food was replenished as needed. She was genuinely pleasant and provided the kind of hospitality we wish we had experienced throughout our stay. Unfortunately, checkout was just as disappointing as check-in. The gentleman at the front desk simply told us to leave our keys there. No “How was your stay?” or even a “Thank you for staying with us.” Overall, the hotel needs serious improvements, not only to its outdated rooms and furniture but especially to its customer service.
