This is a great place for a weekend get away. Everything in the town closes at 5 so be mindful of that when visiting the town. Food is very good and highly suggest trying the Japanese style breakfast at least once. It was a very neat experience. Traditional breakfast was very basic.

Excellent retreat

We stayed one night while visiting Hakone and wish we had extended our stay. This is an amazing property with an amazing staff. It was a peaceful and relaxing break after enjoying Tokyo. I would definitely come back for a couple more days.

Hakone Retreat is a gorgeous getaway with a wonderful staff that is always available to assist you. We stayed in one of the private onsen villas, room 3, and it was absolutely everything we could dream of. The hours of operation for the entire property take a little getting used to (the cafe, the lounge and woodside restaurant) but we figured it our and had a fantastic, relaxing time.

We stayed in a ryokan with a private onsen with kaiseki meal package and had a great time. Staff was attentive and helped transport you around the facility via golf cart at request - this helped immensely with luggage transportation up and down the hillside that the property sits on. The kaiseki meals were well prepared and the staff spoke some English.

An amazing experience!10/10 we would recommend to anyone traveling to Japan. Nuru-san was wonderful, very attentive, kind, helpful, and taught us so much about Japanese cuture and the food during the exquisite dining experience. Chef Akitoshi Hamanaka-sama is a talented artist and very detailed and passionate about his work. He was also considerate to accommodate a vegetarian diet with a variety of food showcasing Japan’s varied cuisine, and prepared the most memorable wagyu. Thank you to the staff for their hospitality!

Such a beautiful property and the staff were very kind and attentive. The private onsen in your villa is very relaxing and the villa itself is well equipped and very nice. There is a bus stop right outside the property so getting to and from here is a breeze. Overall I had a great experience here and I would recommend it to anyone visiting in Hakone.

The rooms are incredibly peaceful and relaxing, just what we needed after a lot of hiking earlier in the week. The dinner we had was delicious at the restaurant. The team also helped correct a billing issuer very fast and diligently. We enjoyed it so much that wish we had stayed longer!

Great service

Check in was done in the room itself, service staff was superb. even check out was done in the room. Villa had no TV but provided a great sound system to play your favorite music for max relaxation during your stay.

Our room was beautiful, we even had a piano inside. Our bed had a really nice view of the little garden, where the open air onsen was located. The onsen was clean and it was so nice to sit in the warm water and take in the serene beauty of the place. The staff was really nice and took us by car to our room and to the busstop, they even wanted to take us to the restaurant, but we decided to walk. The breakfast was a gorgeous japanese style breakfast, which we got in our own separate room in the restaurant. All in all, would definitely recommend.

Incredible hotel!! Deep in the Hakone mountains you instantly feel close to nature. We stayed in a private Villa - vs in the hotel - and it was incredible. Well designed, spacious, and built for relaxation with your own semi private onsen. If coming to Hakone to relax, this is a great place to stay. Local bus stop is also a 1 min walk from hotel property which made getting into town and doing some tourist site seeing super easy when we realized you have to call ahead of time to schedule taxis ( Vs instant taxis in Tokyo and kyoto). Would absolutely stay here again ,

I would skip this retreat if you are looking for a nice Onsen. Our cabin was not properly cleaned, where we saw visible dust, cobwebs, and a giant spider! The view from our cabin was not like the gorgeous pictures on their listing. We were quite disappointed overall, especially with what we paid.

Okcs Retreat Hakone Villa Reciew

Without question, Okcs Retreat Hakone Villa was the most gorgeous resort stay my wife and I have had in our lifetime. Stepping into the cabin was an otherworldly experience; the fresh smell of mixed pine and cedar throughout was marvelous and having the experience of enjoying private onsen provided us the calmness we were looking for after the hustle and bustle of both Tokyo and Kyoto. The experiences of staying with this resort accentuates and celebrates the landscape it surrounds, in tandem, inviting those who stay here a beautifully characteristic landscape of the rural Japanese mountains. The beauty of Hakone wouldn’t have felt as special without having stayed here. Thank you so very much for a wonderful and beautiful memories my wife and I can share indefinitely.

Incredible villa/ryokan/onsen experience.

It is a perfect combination of ryokan/villas with the main house to have Japanese breakfast and dinner at Hyosekikaku, and great restaurant and cafe at Nest Inn Hakone. If you are a villa guest, you can enjoy everything. Our villa, number 7, was spacious, the deck was in front of a pond. Nature is everywhere and you have total privacy.The villas have their own onsen. You really don't have to go to the main onsen. Bathroom, beds, amenities are top notch. Main restaurant, Japanese-French fusion, which also has its own bakery, is amazing in all counts. Breakfasts are incredible. Dinner can be either fix menu or a la carte. A+ for both of them. There is a Spa in house, great services and reservations are easy to make. But, it is the staff's professionalism, sunny attitude, their willingness to go the extra mile, and the very special details they showered us with, that makes Hyosekikaku and Nest Inn Hakone a unique, restful and heart warming experience.
