"I suspect that what is now a hotel was once an apartment complex, given the small kitchenette - something I had not expected. It is old and does not have a modern feel. But it's very affordable and let's not forget that the parking is free. Vancouver is a very expensive city; it's nice to know that instead of eating out every night, you can walk over to Safeway and buy groceries. The staff are wonderful. Conveniently located close to Stanley Park and Canada Place. Any future trips to Vancouver will include a stay at the Tropicana."
