Wrong description & poor communication
We are local and recently had a wedding at our house. I booked the two bedroom guest house for my mother and aunt to stay for the weekend. When my mother and aunt arrived, the gate was locked and they couldn't even enter the property. There was no mention of a gate code or instructions to enter in any of the communication. I was hosting a "night before the wedding" bbq at my house and had to leave the party to come assist them (fortunately I live about a mile away). When I arrived, I had to climb up the embankment near the gate and was able to get the attention of someone on the property and while he didn't speak English, we were able to communicate well enough to get the gate code. Now that we were on the property, we tried the code that was given to us to enter the property... it didn't work. So I went to the main house on the property and was able to speak to the owner. He couldn't get the code to work to the guest house either and that is when we discovered that we had actually been booked in the one bedroom guest house and not the two bedroom in which we had booked. And of course, the two bedroom was already occupied. We finally gained access to the one bedroom. At this point, my mother and aunt were exhausted and I needed to get back to my own wedding party so we decided to stay. My mother stayed in the guest house and my aunt slept in her sprinter van in the driveway. The owner said he would compensate us for one night for our troubles but nothing yet.
