This property is beautiful, the views are breathtaking. We went for our honeymoon. We had our first night there though in a room where the AC stopped working. Along with it being too hot to fall asleep and the loud club music till 1:30am, This made for a terrible day to follow. The staff and manager were kind and accommodating when we had issues and did refund part of our stay and apologized. But our time was short there and we wished we had chose another place in Tulum. This is not a place for people who aren’t wanting to party all night or light sleepers.

Our stay at Ahau was absolute perfection. Every member of the staff from the check in desk to the beach waitstaff and housekeeping were incredible. We toured several other hotels and none had the combination of rooms, central location and beach access including a pool that Ahau did. I recommend staying on a top floor if you are in a bungalow to enjoy the thatched roof ceiling. The passion fruit margarita is the best in Tulum and the best restaurants are a short walk away. We will def be back. ❤️

Amazing Stay
It was amazing, beautiful room and right on the beach. The only issue was that the shower did not have hot water, and we had no idea it would be outside, which I guess I didn't mind as much as the fact that it was cold water. Other than that, loved my stay and the staff was very welcoming and friendly.

We had a great time at ahau! The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful and the service was top notch. The hotel was centrally located to everything and the staff even helped us book a great Mayan adventure with a tour guide. Highly recommend!

I got the Suite, and front beach. It was very difficult getting to actually see the beach from my suite 2. The palm trees were in the way. I was able to use cabana 2, however, there were always people there unable to enjoy! Pretty upset that my refrigerator was being un plugged aswell and my AC turned off by front staff, after I asked to keep it on at all times. Front desk control AC and I didn’t like that. I don’t know what kept biting me, but I woke up everyday with bites. Either mosquito or ants. Do not leave any type of drinks, food nothing on nightstand because ants will be all over! Noise was super loud at night, unable to sleep!

Brought my wife here for her 40th birthday. It was on her bucket list to visit Tulum. First, it is a king trip from the airport. Once we arrived, noticed that overall Tulum us beautiful. Ahau is a beautiful and unique property. Traditional Mexican architecture combined with modern influences. All rooms are individual bungalows. The problem here is that the a/c is turned off from 9am to 6pm. The last night we had to sleep without a/c because it broke. Informed staff and confirmed by checking the system, but not even issued credit for that night or even a meal. There are mosquitos and bugs everywhere. This hotel is not worth the nightly rate. Restaurant and beach staff is superb!!Respond Share with your staff

The front desk staff here was the literal best I’ve ever encountered. We didn’t wait longer then 10 minutes for anything. If I could rate this hotel 100 stars I would. Such an incredible experience!

Everything is almost perfect in this hotel. it's in the middle of the rest&club district. Walking distance to other cool places but at the same time you can not sleep before 2 am because of the noise. Choose quiet rooms when you book.

An amazing experience at the hotel! The staff were so accomodating and helpful. I recieved the best care and service even before I went there. They accomodated my requests in every possible way and they were always available and replies right away if you ask any questions. Once we were there the resort is gorgeous. We stayed in mastersuit beachfront room and had the greatest beach experience ever. The view of the ocean from your bed- nothing can beat that. Then you just walk down this beautiful beach. All in all it's an amazing experience.

Beautiful hotel and room! And right next to the famous Ahau statue so you can take a lot of pictures! Great place to stay! But the only issue is that they only have ac on at night and not during the day when it’s so hot!!! Other than that “It’s A Great place to stay!

The beach was outstanding! Very little seaweed and fine white powder sand. The restaurant food and staff were superb! The front desk reception was lukewarm. Just wanted the credit card info and not very excited to tell us about the amenities. We were told our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 1:30 pm and reminded us unnecessarily that check in was at 3 pm. This is low season and weird no room available early. No offer to keep our carryon bags so we could enjoy facility earlier. We decided to eat lunch. A nice welcome drink, however, was served and that was appreciated. I was told to look online to see what the facility offered. Also, you need Whats app to communicate with front desk staff. Got very scant orientation to the room. We had to figure out the lock mechanism to the safe with some initial frustration and the AC temp control has 10 buttons and had to guess which one graduated room temp. Incense in room was old & moist so would not light. They got us a fridge for some meds we had, again appreciated that. The light in the fan unit came on twice spontaneously waking us up each time. Also, thumping music from next door bar kept us up ‘til 3 am on Sunday night. This was low season and thankfully this music wasn’t on the last night we were there. This hotel is not for kids. Need to throw out TP in basket not in the toilet as part of eco friendly stance. No TVs in room or nearby facilities. The darling for this hotel is the beach & restaurant food/staff.

Beautiful, sustainable hotel, amazing food and drinks, friendly staff. Bathroom was very small, only 1 sink and barely room for a toilet bag. Also very little cabinet space and no table/desk to put a laptop and work remotely. Also not a friend of bare concrete floors

Completely UNSATISFACTORY.
We paid for a junior studio with beach which was as described. What was not identified was the music that played till 0500 everyday and that they did not clean the balcony covered poo excreta. No fly screens so mosquitos in room if not wanting to use air conditioning. On requesting a change of room, told music was just the weekend. Untrue. No daybeds around the pool and as the ocean was littered with seaweed this meant walking from beach through dinners to access pool. Staff very pleasant.
