We actually liked staying here. It was close to downtown. Just a short walk to the Lincoln library and home. The staff was friendly and helpful. It just seemed (like all downtowns) like there were a few homeless people in the area, and a breadline a block away.

I stay at this hotel every time I am in Springfield. It is right on the edge of the downtown area, so lots of food options in the area. I usually visit Springfield for the Illinois State Fair in August, and this hotel is only a 5-minute drive from the fairgrounds. Always reasonably priced compared to several other hotels in the area. It's a bit older than some, but as long as you aren't looking for anything real modern or fancy, it is a solid stay.

Front desk concierge Corrina was friendly, helpful and informative. Staff was always smiling and kind. Fitness room was convenient and quiet. Good location/parking. The only problem I had is the breakfast offerings were lean. I'm not a big fan of biscuits and gravy and wish there would have been some basic protein, like pork sausage and eggs, in the breakfast.
