Idyllic Holiday Properties is a small friendly holiday company offering an honest and efficient service for our privately owned rental properties situated in fantastic locations on Anna Maria Island on the Gulf coast of Florida (the web addresses for our other properties on VRBO can be found below). The island has 7 miles of beautiful sugar-white sandy beach where you will see pelicans dive, dolphins play and the ibis run.

Starfish Cottage is situated towards the top end of Anna Maria Island. The property is extremely well furnished and equipped with everything we hope you would want to enjoy your holiday.

The master bedroom has a king bed and benefits from an en-suite shower room and the 2nd bedroom has twin beds. The family bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, basin and WC.

Outside in the tropically landscaped garden you will find the free form pool with waterfall which is shared with the occupants of our 2 smaller cottages (at most there would be 4 additional people using the pool), loungers, chairs and tables. There is also a private sitting area to the other side of the property which is for the occupants of Starfish Cottage only. The property benefits from off street parking for 1 car.

The beautiful beach is just 200 feet away at the end of the quiet road. Numerous restaurants are also within easy walking distance and the free trolley bus is the perfect way to travel if you want to explore the island further without having to use a car.

Good but not great
The location was amazing!!! About 50 steps to the beach. The house was as described but there were a few things we were disappointed in. 1) the master bath was so small the door wouldn’t even open all the way it would hit the toilet. Also, the water pressure in that shower was not good. 2) the cookware in the kitchen, wasn’t the best in the stove was hard to regulate 3) there were not any trash bags at the property so I had to purchase some 4) ants! Ants were everywhere in the dining room and in the kitchen area. 5) need better beach chairs. The few that were there are rusted All in all was a great place to stay in the above items wouldn’t keep me from staying here again.

Beautiful getaway
The home was beautiful and well maintained. It was decorated nicely and was very clean. It met all our needs. The pool was outstanding with the umbrella tables and lounge chairs. The private beach just a short distance away was amazing with beautiful sunsets. We definitely would come back and stay here!!

Great Location
The cottage was perfect for my family of 4. My young kids loved the pool and the short walk to the beach. The location was perfect for everything we needed. The kitchen was also well stocked so we could eat in with ease. We’ll be back!

Holiday vacation at starfish cottage
My family enjoyed our holiday celebration vacation at the starfish cottage. We enjoyed the wonderful location on Anna Maria, the comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and the beautiful patio with heated pool. We were happy to be near many shops to pick up donuts and to get breakfast. The cottage is great for enjoying family dinners and it was so nice that the host supplied some water, snacks and a bottle of wine. We truly felt fortunate to find this wonderful spot and hope to return soon.

Perfect place in perfect location for perfect vacation
Having never been to Anna Maria Island, we chose the Starfish cottage because it looked like the right size for a family of 3 in a good location with a pool. As soon as we arrived, we knew we made the right choice. The 2 bedroom cottage was much bigger than we thought and was spotless upon arrival. The pool is very private which we really enjoyed. The best part was the location. We walked everywhere. The beach is only a few hundred yards down from the cottage and it was a perfect beach on Bean’s Point. Walking to Pine Ave, the city pier and the Rod and Reel pier was so nice. This was the perfect place for us for a perfect vacation. Thank you!

sweet sunny cottage near the tip of Anna Maria within walking to village and to Bean point. The beach at the end of our little street was glorious and not busy. Walked for miles on the beach. Rent bikes to see the island!

Love this property - definitely a "wow!" Much bigger than pictures show. The pool is great and the cottage is easily within walking distance to the beach. Everything was clean and beautifully decorated. We are looking forward to staying here again.

Needs new couches, uncomfortable and stained. Needs new pillows on beds, also uncomfortable. Master bedroom needs a headboard. Pool and location amazing!! I love where this cottage is and the pool area is so quaint and welcoming. Beach down the road is paradise.

Location and Charm!
Just LOVED Starfish cottage! I’ve been to AMI many times, but my first time at this rental. The cottage is bigger than you sense from the photos, and very bright with a lot of light: big windows, sliding doors. It’s clean and well cared for. The pool area is welcoming and a very nice heated pool (no problem swinming on our chilly day this week, in the 60s.) The location is truly great! 4 houses to the beach and a 3-5 minute walk to Pine Street with great food spots and boutique stores. Will definitely stay again!

Another great stay at “the cottages”.
Second stay at the cottages. Stayed in Starfish this time. The cottage was so comfortable. Clean and had everything you could possibly need for a beach vacation. Sharon and Liane are a pleasure to work with. New find this trip was Robinson Preserve. Recommend googling it and visiting it. Already planning my next visit and would only stay at “the cottages”!

Our stay in Anna Maria was wonderful. I was very happy with the house and the location. We stay here frequently and this would be a home we would return to. The location worked great because we were a minute from the beach and from shopping. The property managers were easy to work with and our stay was comfortable.

Starfish Cottage Enjoyment
Great location, less than 5 minute walk to waters edge. Quiet street two blocks from the Anna Maria Main Street. Beach is great and quiet, no one close to you. Cottage has nice layout and roomy. Master is nice size room with king bed that slept great for us. Master bath with large shower. Girls had own room and bathroom. Large kitchen table. All appliances worked and indoor temp nice and cool. Pool and patio is very nice and clean! Pool is common area. Ate at 5 different local restaurants in 5 days. The town caters to visitors. Rental golf carts everywhere. Watched sunset from beach every night and really enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Us in mid 50’s and two 17 y/o girls. Take advantage of all the water sports!
