This hotel is convenient to Fisherman's wharf and the other north end attractions. Having parking included in the price was a deciding factor. The Castle Inn is a well worn but very clean hotel. I recommend it for the convenience factor and friendly staff.

It is a nicely maintained hotel with clean and quite rooms. There is an elevator so guests don't need to carry luggage upstairs. Except at the moment of check-in, there seems no need to bother the hotel staff.

Owner of hotel is very accommodating and helpful. Parking is tight. But safe. Rooms are cleaned daily. There is ice and vending and an elevator. Great walking distance to food,coffee and a Walgreens on the corner.

Parking spaces are tight but parking was available and felt secure. Neighborhood felt safe at night for walking. Rooms were slightly dated but seemed cleaned. Although the room did smell like urine. Ac was very loud.

They let us check in super early (10;30am) as our room had been cleaned ahead of schedule! Also, if you prepaid for the room check out is seamless - you just leave your keycard in the room which is super nice for early morning flights

The location was incredible! A 15-20 minute walk got us to several great locations, including down by the water. The staff was very polite and friendly, and made the check in process easy. The only significant issue we encountered was with the rough looking old carpet in our room. Overall it was an enjoyable experience, and my advice would be to get a corner room for a beautiful view.

The one plus for San Fran was it had free parking. However you'd better have a compact car to squeeze in that tiny garage or you might not even make it through the entrance. The room was cramped, the carpet was filthy, and the air conditioning did not work correctly. It was either hot and humid or freezing. It's just not a nice place. The location is very convenient. You can walk around pretty easy. The neighborhood feels safe.I wouldn't say that for all of San Fran. That guy working the desk was nice and warned us to stay out of the Tenderloin. It is what it is, a budget motel.

The room was very clean and had everything needed. The bed was a little soft for my taste. On-site parking in the upper small courtyard lot and basement were both tight squeezes but still appreciated. Overall it was a great location and I would stay again.

Overall would stay again based on the great area and free parking..although, super tight spots, so bring small car if possible! Unfortunately Ice machine broken, but nice, quiet area makes it a good choice. Very basic expectations.
