At Check in we waited 1 hour 30minutes after 3pm for our Suite to be ready at The Level. When we entered the suite is was bigger than we expected. We were pleasantly surprised at the size. The two bedroom grand suite in The Level. It’s worth upgrading to the Level because you have access to the Riviera restaurant buffet which my family preferred over the other restaurants that were included. We always ended up going to the Riviera buffet. They served delicious food and desserts for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ramon the riviera manager took good care of us and made us our favorite chinola drinks. He made our dining experience more enjoyable. Nathanael our private Concierge made things happen and much easier. The resort and surrounding facilities are well maintained clean and safe with easy access to other areas of the resort by the staff driving you in the golf carts throughout the property. The nightly shows were entertaining and my family enjoyed them that were geared towards families. I will definitely consider staying at Melia beach resort for my next trip.

Taking a trolly to and from restaurants, pool, beach and back to our room was annoying and not convenient for my family. The trolly ride was 3 minutes long, and at times we waited 5-10 minutes for a trolly to come.

Viaje desde New York a República Dominicana, me gustó mucho el resort pero siento que deben de invertir más en las habitaciones, a mi tocó el nivel LEVEL QUE ESTABA BIEN, pero mi familia estaban en las habitaciones regulares y no me gustó mucho. 4003-4004 la base de la cama estaban muy sucias. La comida estaba bueno, el ámbito familiar. Lo que no me gustó mucho es que no había discoteca, en otro resort que he ido nos dan la accesibilidad a la discoteca, yo fui a relajarme y a disfrutar pero a las 11:30 de la noche sentía que ya no había nada de que hacer. Las atenciones muy buenas, KILVANIA UN AMOR DE PERSONA Por las atenciones volvería pero deben de mejorar las estructuras del hotel están un poco viejas

The room was not ready on time. Staff is very very slow. Dining is limited and very unorganized to make dinner reservations, they switch names of restaurants. We would ask dining staff for straw, drink, ice etc, they would say yes and disappear and ignore our request repeatedly and at all dining facilities. Pool was dirty, drinks horrible.

The only thing I didn't like was the concierge service that the hotel has, offering you to be a member of the hotel for an excessive amount, at first they look for you, they try to give you a service and the moment you deny the membership you are no longer useful, on the one hand They forgot to give us the cards for the towels and the pool staff treated us as they were doing us a favor, it also happened when we were leaving there was no availability of the train and a staff in a golf cart stops and tells us that they are not supposed to do that about taking us to the lobby, but he will do it. I feel that they despise the Dominican the least and treat them very differently from other cultures.

I have been to this resort 3 times. They have now divided the resort into to separate sides. So even if you have the level you can not use the Adults only side or Restaurants.. Limiting your food options. It looks like they have done some upgrades to the adults only side. Disappointed we never got to eat dinner at the Spanish & Mediterranean restaurants.... They would not book reservations

REVIEW OF NON LEVEL. We just got home yesterday and stayed at the Melia resort. Food was great, buffets and restaurants, no issues at all, a lot of selection. Cleanliness - we stayed in block 43. We were with a group of 12 and everyone experienced same issues with the rooms not being cleaned. We were on main floor and had cockroaches in our room multiple times. Very uncomfortable to stay/sleep knowing cockroaches were scurrying around. We had a terrible situation happen with the stocked fridge. Each day there is 6 carton waters, 2 beers, 2 pops. They must not have cleared the fridge from the people before us. When we went to brush our teeth with the water, it was urine. The idiots before us must have urniated in the cartons. Thankfully we didn't drink from the cartons and poured into paper glasses and that is how we noticed the liquid was yellow. We travelled with our 2 kids under 8 and they very well could have started drinking the water straight out of the carton. Very very disgusting and scary to say the least. We told our cleaners but they did not care - and another part of my review was the staff. We have stayed at many Punta Cana resorts and friendly friendly people, this resort was different. Not the warm friendly vibe, everyone acts confused and doesn't answer you. My husband speaks Spanish so he would translate my questions in Spanish and they were not helpful at all. Service at this resort I would have to say is very poor. Pools and beach were great. Water

We had a great time at this resort. Food was good, staff were nice beach area was beautiful! Only thing I would suggest is to play music from that culture not from the U.S. The entire time they played American music and when we asked for some Spanish music their response was that “this is what Americans want to listen to.”

If you are looking for a REAL REVIEW - please read. Property - dated. Room location - excellent, stayed in a 2 bed, 2 bath suite close to pool/beach. Safety issue - A french family in the neighboring room had a massive fight. We called security and they came immediately. Did not leave us feeling secure though. Buffet is a cluster, food not kept cold, chaos - really hot room, with cold food which is a recipe for illness. The other restaurants were excellent and we did manage to book them all 5 nights but had to resort to 1) lying about our reservation 2) taking cancellations and 3) more lying to get reservations. The reservation process is beyond annoying. The service at the restaurants was first class. The service at the buffet for breakfast was so/so. No cutlery, no clean tables, too many people - so many dirty tables littered with left over food and mess all over the floor. We went to lunch ONCE at the buffet, it was like going to Atlantic city on pensioners day out. Crowded, limited choices, melted ice cream. Again food that should be cold was not - and that offended us the most! Sometimes the service was absolutely zero but the room staff were amazing and we returned to clean and tidy rooms each day. Do not get sucked into the Melia sales pitch, we spent 2 hours listening to it for a free steak dinner. Waste of time and I got locked in the bathroom for an hour with no way to get out. That was the icing on top of the cake.

We had a great family holiday in an amazing lovely environment, a good hotel gym, a fantastic beach, pools, grounds, and lots of food choices at the buffet. Negatives: I'm fine with warm buffet food but here it was just left to get cold, proper cold, regularly! Finding a decent coffee including milk was so hard. Most days the snacks at the kids pool were sit-down orders only, one day we waited 40 minutes for chicken nuggets! They don't have self-service for soft drinks/ice cream which we liked at other All Inclusive resorts. I wake early it would have been nice to have a continental buffet breakfast option before 7 AM.

I had high hopes for this resort! I was so excited about this trip and then we got here… we couldn’t check in cause we were a little early so we went to eat at the buffet. The food was not great. Dry and over cook bland no seasonings at all but still I am excited the place from the outside is beautiful! Then we finally get to check in to our ocean view room which was not ocean view at all. I asked to be changed to an ocean view and was told this resort doesn’t haven ocean views even though I paid extra. The room was directly in front of the pool so it was constantly loud Which only affected us the first day when we were exhausted from traveling. The room itself was old looking out fridge wasn’t stocked with anything but two water cartons. 3 beds only one blanket… I called they promised they would send someone and nothing finally day two I found someone in housekeeping and asked her and first she told me no I need to look cause they’re there then I brought her in to see there wasn’t any and she finally got some. Most of the people at the resort were not helpful but I must say the staff at alma restaurant was great! The food there and capri was pretty good. Going back to the room we found roaches which was gross and the toilet and shower didn’t work right. Over very disappointing I was so excited and it was a big let down. Learn from my lesson and pay the few extra dollars for better quality.

I cannot believe how run down this resort has become since we last visited in 2017. The rooms were in terrible condition (mind you we switched rooms and upgraded to a level). Both rooms felt like you were in a motel. Front desk staff had no idea of my request sheet that I sent in before our stay. I was not able to speak with a manager at all regarding the issues we were dealing with. The food has also deteriorated. The only plus side now to this resort is the beach, and some of the bartenders. Other than that, they have ZERO business charging what they do for a stay here.

Very outdated rooms. Pool was outdated and felt dirty. Most staff didn’t really care about the level of service they are providing and it showed. Wouldn’t recommend. For the price you pay, there certainly are better options.

The room service is the worst, after each clean, there is still so much hair and dirt on the floor. Bed sheet were messy underneath. No water provided after each room clean and we had to ask so many times. My son was bitten by some kind of bugs. Food was terrible and waiter services were really bad. Never serve you water and spoons and forks. We basically cleaned our own table and grabbed water ourselves.
